I'd like to get off this ride......

So when I finished up my last post this had also all occurred. Tasha was in the hospital. The outcome is she has kidney disease and its been since she was a kitten (shes only 3). We've checked her sister and no issues there. So she gets subcue fluids twice a day for the foreseeable future. But she takes them like a champ so this is good. She's home and eating...not as much as we would like but eating. She goes back to blood work this saturday ((May 28).

So in the even more exciting news. while Tasha was in the hospital last week Mel had an MRI for his back on Thursday. Our new doc wanted it to prove-out what is causing his back pain. Well, it kinda did? He's got a squashed disk in the middle of his shoulders but the MRI doc called our Doc to talk. They (MRI) thought that there was infection around mel's back tissue but couldn't be certain without contrast. So as we were in our optometry appt on Friday Mel gets a call that he needs to go to the ER at TMC and get an MRI with contrast. The ER. So I guess this is serious? We didn't expect the outcome....he got admitted at 11pm. They were worried he had MRSA or meningitis or something else nasty. So he was bored in the hospital from late friday night thru Monday afternoon. They did a biopsy to test and nothing nasty grew. He had a neurosurgeon and an infectious disease doc checking in him multiple times per day. So they were taking it seriously which is good. So what they think he has is disseminated valley fever read to the down to show that. His MRI that looks like the patient in this case shows like Mel's case a lot.

They discharged him on Monday while they wait for the cultures on the valley fever and then they will start him on drugs for that for at least 6 weeks. Or if that comes back negative I'm not sure but looking at the scans and the data it looks likes pretty likely. So he got discharged Monday. Got home, dropped things off and then went to take Willow in for her shots and to pick up Tasha. So by Monday evening the family was all back together and the week hadn't even gotten off of the first day. My mom was also being a PITA with questions and comments and constant badgering for information on the cat and Mel. I don't think she even fathoms how much stress that causes me. I ranted to my SIL/BIL and they felt my pain but since my mom has no time sense its just what I have to deal with with was just too much.

Oh, and as an aside, my right eye has changed drastically in the last year. Like I couldn't read the 3rd line clearly. SO new glasses for me. Mel's eyes barely changed. yay for getting older and blinder!

I also had to get a new set of front tires on the car which also happened on Monday. Then on Tuesday I nerfed a tire on a curb...luckily (?) it wasn't the new tire? but I felt dumb...its fine I just had a panick about it. Stoopid curbs. I will say my mom was distracting me and I was tired and the world is dumb. But yeah my bad. So Wednesday I'm still a stress bunny and I just took the night off and curled up in bed for 90 mins after work. It felt good to snuggle up and just be.

I'm taking thursday afternoon off to deal with mom appointments and packing for Phx Fan Fusion (formerly Phx Comic Con). Its just me and Benton going and Ari is joining us since Mel is staying home. He has no stamina for walking as much as we will be and people and moving. So its okay. Our hotel room and passes will not go to waste. Looking forward to having a stress free con. no cosplay planned. just BFF time, hitting some activities and just relaxing.
