Weird Wednesday

Well, I worked a few hours and then headed home for a nap. I slept pretty good and even had kitten snuggles. Mel came home and rested as well. I finally got myself up and moving about 5pm, did about 30mins of work on the work laptop and then got dressed for the officer's meeting. Mel and I grabbed shakes for dinner from Jack in the Box, we weren't too hungry but something sweet sounded good. Got to the U of A early but that was okay. The officer's meeting was small but it was nice. I did some embroidery and we left a bit early to head home. I finished a book and then it was bed time. Mel's been working on his new armor and that reminds me that I need to order scales soon. Ugh. Too much to do.

Its already pretty quiet at work...I think a lot of people took today off to have a 5 day weekend. I wish I could spare the PTO but I can't. Pennsic. Speaking of pennsic, I need to get our tickets and our registration today...All of the airlines now charge for the second checked bag so it will be an extra $50 for us on top of the tickets. Sighs. This will be an expensive trip but its worth it every few years. We will probably be getting the armor on the trailer...we shall see.

Other than that this weekend will have wedding fun, Red Elvises and home improvement. Should be good.

Join the atenveldt_pennsic yahoo group. There might be a truck + trailer being driven out. Last year, they did charge per bag so that they could pay for gas, but I don't remember how much ... might be an option.


I can't wait to see you guys! The fact that y'all are coming out is about 90% of the reason I'm keeping my Pennsic vacation.

Fly in to Pittsburgh by 5pm on the 1st and then leave Pittsburgh at 5pm on the 9th...so we have time to hit the UPS store to ship the books and to maybe catch the museum again if they have a good exhibit.

It might be worth the research to see if shipping stuff to Pennsic instead of flying with it would be cheaper.

Having shipped quite a few boxes from AZ to PA when I moved-- it's highly unlikely that it will save them anything to do that.


And frighteningly likely that they'll never see their stuff.

The problem with shipping is that the merchant office (where all of the stuff goes) is closed at 5pm and we land after that. We're gonna ship stuff back (all of the books and fabric) but getting stuff there is a pain.

Waffle has had a couple offers of escorts around site if I can get him out there. I'll have to see if anybody has room for him, or if a truck & trailer get driven out I can bribe somebody/pay to get him on that. Then I'll just have to figure out how to get him home.
