Was having the conversation at work of "what type of monday is it?"...I think mine was "I see stoopid people Monday" while a co-worker was having "Its gonna be a long day monday." I think I need to make a lists of the types of mondays cause I know that "I'm gonna kill a coirker" and "Everything is going wrong" are also in the list. Eh, we shall see.
So, I survived work without throttling stoopid people (though it was close), I just sent scathing emails pointing out the dumb. Which people did read and respond to with "oh, is they why???" Anyhoo..got home kinda grumpy but I got bike stuff on and then spent way to long changing out my cleats and having mel get my pedals readjusted...I still think my right one needs some work but I tooled around the neighborhood and realized that 1)my bike needs tune up and 2) my arm was tightening a lot. I had other things that really needed use of the hand so I came back after sprinting and was home. It was a sucky mileage of 1.25 or so miles. yeah.
Got home, heated up leftovers, got water and then started in on the silk painting for the new baronial banners. Its gonna be sweet. I'm loving the fact that I can shade right on the color versus putting in lines of color and letting the dye blend itself. Very rewarding. BTW, for those that are interested...the quick and dirty (old method) is listed on my website. I'm now doing the "new" egg wash method as listed on
Aston Hall. Very cool bunch of folks. I'm nowhere near the skill in the painting that they show but I'm still learning this medium...course my painting skills are kinda opposite..I tend to blend the paint off of the page versus blending it onto the page and its a skill I need to practice. White space is your friend.
So, I was very much in the painting mode and richard came in and asked if he could clean up his dishes from yesterday's baking fiesta and I said "sure" as I was on a one track mind of PAINT! He didn't just do his dishes, he unloaded/reloaded the dishwasher, got the pans cleaned up and then wiped down the counters too! He's AWESOME!!!!
Then scribble descended and the few of us worked hard. I worked on documentation and helped ari pick out stuff for a design. Faye was entertaining Icka and Richard and being uber cute, Sara was finishing up a scroll, sioux was gold leafing and Mel and Stefan were working on our entry for estrella. All good.
I was having issues saving my google doc...the internet seemed to be not responding..I think I once again need to change settings but that will involve finding the manual again...its on the other computer which no longer talks to the internet. Does anyone have a USB 1.0 wireless ethernet card? The card in the computer is dead and about 10 years old....and the computer is old enough it only has USB 1.0. Anyhoo...we shall see if I can hook it up from my mac.
Went to bed early and got to snuggle up with the hubby and chat. The girls were on the prowl for toys and it was very amusing to me to hear butterfly come back with at least 2 toys before I fell asleep. The insomnia was trying to take hold again but I didn't let it this time. If the internet had been working right...I might have stayed up and work on documentation...dunno.
So, I'm going to go for a much longer bike ride (8 miles) this afternoon...try out my old route and push hard. I'm not going to fight until I get a new elbow made...which we will work on tomorrow and thursday. I think one more quiet night at home will do me good on the healing front.
