Woohooo! Its FRIDAY!!! :-)
Jun. 4th, 2004 06:56 amHad a good evening of discussion at Stitch and Bitch: ranging from A&S entries to how to write properly. Magdalen was there and looking gorgeous at 8 months pregnant. Was out way too late and then spent time reading until almost midnight. That's okay. Short day today at work and then I can have a nap.
I almost thought that we had a fire somewhere this morning since it was cloudy and really, really hazy in all of the washes but from the weather on the radio coming into work it seemed like its just a weather system moving in from mexico.
Had an interesting time coming into work....a guy (pretty cute) was flirting with me while we were driving down Valencia at 50 mph. When I turned into the plantsite he honked and waved as he passed me. Yeah! I love random acts of flirty!
Dana came up with a great phrase last night when we were reading an article someone had wrote that was really bad she said, "It staples itself to its own cross" We couldnt' stop laughing! It really was that bad.
But I did get all of my period documentation for mincemeat pie done with help from mingo's kitchen library. I'm gonna have to go out and buy ingredients and make a few to see how they go. The redactions that are in some of the books don't seem quite right to me but translating from Old/Middle English to Modern English and figuiring out quantities that are written like "Take a good quantity of <blah>..." So, any taste testers? Also, does anyone know a good recipe for a savory, not sweet, crust? I really don't want to resort to pillsbury's. Oh, I should post to the good_eats LJ and ask those folks. I vaguely remember Alton Brown doing a crust show....
Well, drawings are calling my name from the filing cabinet and I want to get them done!
