Wednesday Weird...
Mar. 10th, 2005 07:21 amSo, we get home to find the goodie box from mel's grandmother sitting by the door. We scored well this time. It contained 1 entire fruitcake (don't laugh until you try the real homemade thing), 1/2 a pumpkin bundt cake, 1 package of homemade fudge and 1 package of peanut brittle. We've never gotten the last 3...dude the fudge was spectacular! I need the recipe. So, all of the girl scout cookies will be heading to the freezer and we will be parcelling out the fruit cake. Had a piece of it last night too...OMG...I so love it. We're gonna try making some with Tully later this year.(Mel's grandma soaks it in Whiskey or rum).
So, then I started in on the GREAT FILING PROJECT. I got through everything seneschal-ish that had been sitting in a pile near the computer for (over a year). I'm now pairing things down from the larger piles and actually filing things in time order etc. Yeah! So, hopefully by the weekend everything will be organized and I can look for something and find it immediately. So, it the process of filing I also started our taxes...not that great this year. We owe quite a bit because we lost a grand in student load deductions...though I need to find mel's stuff on that and maybe it will help. Plus, we went up a tax bracket due to my bonuses last year. I'm scrambling through our museum memberships and charitable contributions to see if that helps but I pretty much am certain where my performance sharing check is going...to the IRS. I still need to do the state taxes...so maybe we'll get a refund there (I doubt it...) but yeah, that sucks.
So, then we had a drop by visit from TRH Ed and Asa, chatted for a bit and we finished getting changed for A&S Night. It was really well attended. I ran through my class about 3-4 times as people were finishing classes. I think things were pretty well received but I didn't get the chance to chat with
snotblossom &
genkadin about projects. So, we shall see. Oh,
ysabet(Not sure if you read my lj) but richard is working on netting and could use some more sources...can you talk with him this weekend at Great Helm? He made is own tools... Oh, and
bewilde, shoshana would like to see if you could be her "A&S Buddy" for the baronial arts tourney...she's looking at entering blackwork. So, the evening faded into a nice discussion of first time A&S do's and don't's and all was good.
Mel and I got back home. The girls were "starving" and when he tried to feed them obsidian knocked over the bowl. They got punished and sulked for a bit and then ate but obsidian had to come find mel to see if it was okay to eat or not. It was soo cute, here asking permission. He patted her on the head. After dinner (for them) the curled up with us a bit. Butterfly was still miffed about the food incident and obsidian was continuing to apologize. Weird cats.
So, today I get to find more tax deductions, do the state taxes and probably cut out mel's start of his summer fighting coat..I have to clean up the house too and still hit S&B. We shall see what I can get done. Though I think it will be mel's turn to cook since the curry runs out at lunch and the chilli is gone too. So, more modeling goodness..yeah and hopefully no silly customer questions. Dude 2+2=4. Not, 3.14159....
Oh, also go and check out the neat pic of Ed and Asa that I took...it up on the Atenveldt site here.
