So, got home and ran to the UPS store to ship tent, blankets towels and the tent light to pennsic. It was only one box this year but came out to be the same price even with it being slightly heavier. Got home, put chicken in the steamer for salads and then putzed around until dinner. I got more engraving done on the bracelet and made a tool to make the "9" design (only one trip to homedepot require) on it but unfortunately after grinding it down a few times it got to big for the design. So, I get to try again today. I'm pretty confident that I will be able to get all of the bracelet motif work done tonight which leaves tomorrow to bend it into shap, clean it up, polish it with some jewelers rouge and then hit it with some brasso.

Mel on the other hand is having weaving anxiety. His comment this morning was "I must be hanging around [livejournal.com profile] snotblossom too much I'm having weaving anxiety dreams. Its taking him on average an HOUR per letter on the brocaded belt he's working on. Its supposed to say ATENVELDTUS GLORIOUS TERRA SOLIS ([livejournal.com profile] elinor_dear check me on that) and so far he's done with the first word...so that leaves 17 hours of weaving left. So if he weaves from 4pm to midnight tonight (8 hours) and does the same thing on Thursday night (8 hours) he'll still have to weave on the way up to A&S on friday....so, its dueable...just gonna be crazy. It is FREAKING GORGEOUS though...gold brocade on blue silk..wow! So, we shall see...I will be a helpful wife and make sure dinner is on the table when needed and leave him alone as much as possible.

So, now off to write the project paper (or get further on it than I have been)...

So, reading my MSN Horoscope today:
Aries
March 20 - April 18
There is a solid grounding to the day that might have you feeling less than energetic to get the ball rolling, dear Aries. Don't be surprised if there is a sense of restriction and duty that is weighing you down. In the natural cycle of things, times of rest and reflection are extremely important. Don't think that you always need to be on the go in order to make progress. Put your warring nature aside for a day and take it easy.

Uhm...I can't just sit on my duff...go things to do..though I have been very leisurely doing stuff.. I probably could do more but I am taking it slower to do a good job. So, there!

So, I got to a meeting on this short term project I'm working on and find out that they want to have a design review (a review you have before you have permission to build stuff)while I'm gone....uhm...we dont' have drawings yet....we're almost there but dude!!! I can do it and have a crack team of engineers that are up for the challenge but we have to have a peer review of our work Tuesday so I can present our presentation at the dry run next thursday (day before pennsic). Yeah...stressfull, doable but stressful. And I still have the final report to finish for my other project, though that is going pretty well right now...so yeah. JOY!

Progress!!!

So, I have the engraving done on the bracelet...check the photos for updates. I will be bending it into shape on the morrow since its a bit dark in the workshop right now. The engraving isn't bad...I have done much worse but from me looking at my wrist I like the look, closer inspection..yeah, I see all of the errors but I will update my "lessons learned" section of my doc to reflect that. So, I'm gonna bottle my tinctures, have a beer (yes, I know its wednesday but I've been good all week!) and then settle in for some reading. Yeah, another late night but tomorrow is errands, packing and making sure I don't forget anything. Plus the annoying things like ironing, laundry and mundane crap.
