Coronation Weekend...

So Friday was a disaster in the beginning but we were able to get the truck packed, kitchen cleaned and mel un pumpkin-fied by 1:15pm. I think that was pretty good. We got on the road after an egg run and gas. The drive to phx was good and both mel and I were a bit stiff getting out of the truck at Rock Bottom but it was all good. We walk in and hear "Ivan, Ianuk!" and there is Sean and Alaria having lunch. So we join them and all is well. So, back on the road we go and get stuck in traffic in Athem area...but get to site just as the sun is going down. Set up by Blossom and Var and life is good, minus the fact that I ran my battery down and Varr had to jump me so I could move to the parking lot. So, got ourselves settled in and had a nice evening. The Flokati was great and we were warm all night. Got up kinda early on Saturday cause Burning Sands was being loud but got breakfast going and tea going and then slowly got ready for court.

Closing court was long but fun...got the cuffs done on a dress and more X-stitching on the camel. A few surprise awards but all in all a good time. Then a hurried lunch and back for opening court which was nice. So, we ajorned and got started on heating up dinner and me, mina and mel started in on the beer. Then the horsemen came over to share the bottle of midleton and that was a good time while we all drank warmed mead too. Then someone brought out a bottle of stoli vanilla, some blue moon and fattire. We were all drinking well. Then we, en masse, headed to Donngall's vigil. I sat by the fire chatting with Gavin and Elias for a while and then had to listen to other folks drive me crazy. But we got in to chat with Donngall and then it was to bed. Mel was quite tipsy but cute and I was just tired. I didn't sleep well, my elbow was weird and kept cramping up. I just kinda tossed and turned all night.

Got up in the morning and got motivated to cook breakfast and attempt to get ready while mel fought a tremendous hangover. he was very cute and we teased him mercilously. Finally he got up and out of bed and didn't eat breakfast but had some caprisun and gatorade. Court was nice again, donngall's ceremony was short but very nice. The scroll that scribe_ari did was very well received. Mel got ready to fight and I headed back to the camp to start lunch. Varr was starting to pack up his camp and I got some what started on ours. Sat with Tati during the tourneys and x-stitched. The fighting was good. We adjourned back to camp during the second hour of the bear pit to pack up camp. We got everything in the truck but mel's armour bag and the pavillion. We got back to watch the last part of the tourney. Mel was tired and sweaty from fighting for the entire 2.5 hours of the pit. He didn't place but he said that was fine. He sat down and I gave him a bowl of soup, a capri sun and a cup of water and as I was leaving he said "can I have another bowl of soup?" So that was a good sign. So closing court was short. We got back to the tent and change clothes and got things packed up in good measure. Just as our caravan was leaving we got word of a huge accident on the 17. Made plans to re-route on 19th ave and we are so glad that that worked. Got to rock bottom in record time and had a good meal. We all need to remember the preztels are the shitznit. Our fav hostess was there and her name is Jerry Lynn...we will now remember. Got a growler filled and then headed home. I fell asleep about a mile down the road and only woke up here and there. Got home to quiet cats, stuffy house and unloaded in about 15 mins. I think I was asleep in the shower...fell into bed and awoke this morning still tired.

I've been battling an ear/sinus thing for almost 2 weeks. I can't hear out of my left side and my right tonsil feels like a tennisball...gonna have to go to the doc this week I think. Should call on that today to see if I can get in. Plus I'm all swelled up in my hands and feet from allergy ickyness. I think I'm allergic to bumble bee ranch. We shall see. Gonna push fluids today and see how I do. Scribble is at my house this week. See you all there.

Things I've learned in the last 24 hours

1)If your head hurts and you're having sinus issues...remove you headband

2)Green Tea is up there on the fav drinks behind coffee and beer

3)When the poo hits the fan, the people in charge will forget to email you

4)A good to do list written at the end of the previous week is a godsend

5)A pack of Mechanical Engineers needs a name....

6)My husband will always laugh at my misfortune before kissing me on top of the head

7)Not giving your wife kisses the entire day makes both of you grumpy for no reason

8)Red or Blue!!! Make a decision cause you know what colors taste like

9)Pub tips in stout sauce are even better the second day
