War in a few words...
Feb. 21st, 2006 07:01 amI have to say minus some personal drama on Thursday night everything was good at the war. I walked a lot, I fought a lot, I did a little shopping (Pastiche owns my soul and my checking account) and made a few new friends.
Fighting was good, though on Saturday I bummed up my knee a bit. I had fallen during a charge (backwards over a dead guy) and when I tried to kip up, my foot was twisted under me and my knee pulled funny. I limped around the field after I died and chatted with the boys giving good words of incouragement before I let the chirurgeon's drag me home in a cart. Thanks to all of the ladies in the barony who made sure I had water and made sure that Morganna got to me quickly.
My scrolls were very well recieved and I even got to read Steffan's on the field. Many laughed at the wording I chose "On this dusty Estrella Battlefield..."
Ivan and I got to sit our first kingdom court on Sunday. Wow...that was...intense getting there but once the porter kicked in I could relax and enjoy the show.
genkadin did a great job heralding us in. I believe the line was "Sheild your eyes as the sun of atenveldt shines from the gem of Atenvedlt!" We did have one piece of business which was
genkadin asking Sancha, Domingo, Zephyr and
bertana to stand so we could send them off with our love and a big "come home to Atenveldt soon..." I think a lot of people were in tears, I know I was. Ivan and I got many compliments on how well we looked. Even Sir Roger was quite amazed...he forgets that I am a girl sometimes.
The pink coat of doom was very functional, very warm and I can't wait for us to have our blue one's for investiture.
scribe_ari I'll have the coats sewn this weekend so you can pick them up for applique on Monday.
Hearing stories from Uther around the campfire of Asa was amusing...very amusing. Dude! I'm still giggling.
Having Sir Hagan down from Northshield was AWESOME. He was a great asset to our line, a great fireside companion and it was good to have some one around from the start of my adventure in the SCA. We started membership at the same even in January 1994 and it was good to share the memories.
I'll have more but these are the memories that stand the most right now.
