The Ides of March.....
Mar. 15th, 2006 06:55 amVery neat story on NPR this morning about the fact that Ceasar, when he died, exhaled about 0.5 x (6x10^23) molecules of air and that right now if you take a really deep breath you probably inhaled 1 molecule that Ceasar had exhaled. So cool.
Other fun things that I remembered was that on monday when driving to another building I saw a herd of javelina sashaying across the road near my building. That was cool.
And another thing. The president visited this little town in upstate New York and the commentator said that the local pub was great and was serving Guiness at $2.75/pint and had 70 other beers on tap. That was funny...and it made me thirsty.
So, Tuesday at work was a firefighting day. Seems again we have hardware that no one has ever measured to see if it fits the drawings. (yeah, I know, how dumb is that) So, I have to call of the original design engineer to find out if this one dimension is critical. In my 2 min phone call I was told, "heck, ya! that dim is way important" I discover after a telecon how bad the situation is and then I can the enigneer back to get his anaylsis and find that today is his last day until 2 weeks of vacation and then 1 week of business travel...so I hotfooted it to his building and got the information transferred to a drive. Whew...but didn't get the seal design done or anything else. Sighs.
Got home and made dinner, took a nap. Well, I attempted to take a nap cause mel was SNORING so loud butterfly couldn't sleep and I kept waking up...but I rested and snuggled with my girls. Obsidian was under the afghan on the couch for hours...very cute.
FP was good. Got the gift baskets taken care of, got feast stuff worked out, got tourneys worked out and it was fun. We even got home early 9:30 and were in bed pretty quick. I sipped on warmed mead while reading my book and then settled in for a good sleep. This morning though none of us wanted to get up. Very cozy in bed. Oh, well. We get to sleep in on Friday.
So, today will be going through analyses, hopefully meeting with my EE counterpart on the seal and getting other stuff done. Tonight will be ordering pizza, working on my veil and on our tokens for our court. Mel is going to be casting stuff.
