Funky monday...weekend wrapup
May. 1st, 2006 06:56 amThe shift key on the right side of my keyboard keeps sticking...which made me not be able to log in and it was odd to call comp services this early to log in...oh, well, can of air to clean and its better. Ooops.
So, friday was good...got lots done, got the truck packed with everything extra that we needed and there wasn't a air gap in the truck. Pretty good. Mel was awake enough to get the stuff on the top of the truck and we got to site (after a quick trip at A&W) just as the sun was setting. Had to manhandle the pavillion a bit since we were on a slope but got things up and ready pretty well. Started in on the drinking and we stayed up quite late chatting with Teulu and the Monkey Crewe. Snuggled into bed and about 30mins later mel got up to hurl. Which was weird since he hadn't had that much to drink...but probably too much "cake or brownie or death" and other odd things. The phrase "did you make it off the carpet?" "Yes" (hurl) was founded. Got up the next morning and got coffee, bacon and eggs ready for us. Mel got breakfast in bed...but he's kinda lazy in the mornings. Got into psuedo armour for court and then had fun fighting in the Boar Hunt. We waited forever to fight the bar room battles, even had lunch next to the tavern while we waited. Mel came in second or third in those scenarios. Got a shower after chatting with Ari and Jules and Blossom and then started in on making dinner. Mel went off with the Horsemen. I had to call him for dinner which sent him running. Guess the crewe made fun of him for bolting when I called but soon changed their tune as he snarfed on hot and spicy sausage and redbeans and rice. I chatted with folks and was kept well stocked in the beer department. Mel got back and we sat down to chat...but soon were reminded that the bardic competition was going on and we should get there.
Sat and listened to bardic, quite nice and then I made it through almost all of the barmaid competition. I was tired and got Bjorn to escort me home. I was shocked to see that it was only 10pm. Slept good though and got up about 7:30. Got dressed and coffee going and was social and packed up all morning until court. Court was interesting and fun. Ivan and I won the Boar Hunt and then we had the southern crusades opening meeting. That went well considering we're still missing autocrats for many things. After that is was a quick change and a quick final packing of the stuff. We headed out and had dinner with Blossom/Varr, Kip/Shelia, Medric/Phelan and Rhois. Good times and a really good waitress. We left her a very colorful tip.
We got home and unpacked by 5:30pm...sat around and wound down. The girls were snuggly whiney and the ice cream was good. Got showers and watched mythbusters until about 8pm..then it was bed. Very nice weekend.
