Wandering Wednesday...
Jul. 6th, 2006 07:07 amWell, work was...annoying. I couldn't get things signed off cause no one was here. I couldn't get hardware built cause no one was here...yeah, you get the idea. Got home grumpy and tired and hot...ugh. We biked and I was uncomfortable all the way. My left knee and glute were all tight and wouldn't stretch out. Got home just in time for a MONSOON!!! It was quite impressive and we had the power go out on us like 5 times. Mel ended up having to let the bread rise on the counter and bake it in the oven. He made nummy dinner and I finished up carving the sprues in my mold. Out of probably 20 casts I got 4 good buckles...couldn't quite figure out what was wrong but I decided that was the number I needed for Saturday and that I need to get my weaving settled again. I had broken 2 threads on one card on the way down from Barbarians and I need to ge those fixed and continue weaving since I figured out that my loom makes 66" of trim. Each garter takes 22" of trim...so each woven piece will give me 3 garters....so, I need to finish the trim. Mel came in and had been messing with my mold. He figured out that my mold was too smooth on the faces and that air was getting trapped. I was holding the mold too tightly. So, I will cut a few small gates in the mold tonight and hopefully get quite a few more casts done on Sunday.
I'm feeling really tired today. I was tired and cranky yesterday...its probably all of the weather, travel and altitude that I've been seeing lately. I have a few things to do today at work but with lots of folks gone its gonna be dullish. I have some paperwork and documentation to work on so it shouldn't be too bad. We shall see. Looks like Mel and
robo_markov are going to lunch today, hopefully they will have fun.
