Daytime xray fun and date night.
Aug. 31st, 2006 06:54 amWell, yesterday progressed pretty stress free. I was able to get research done and then Jane (Reliability gal) and I trundled over to the failure analysis lab to get some xray's taken of some hardware. Unfortunately we'd been usurped and even after waiting for 45mins they still weren't done. But had some amusing conversations with folks and got to see the new realtime xray working. It was very cool, even if it hasn't been cal'd yet. After that I dropped Jane off and picked up mel. Drive home was busy, too much traffic. Weird considering we left 10mins early. Got home and I started painting the background on the scroll and finished that up just in time for mel to be done with pell work and ready to go on date night.
Had a nice dinner at Metro, though my entree wasn't too great. It was BBQ shrimp but they were only just grilled and the amusing part is I left it sitting on my dining room table. Along with my breakfast..yeah, I'm BRILLIANT. But we had lots of nummy beer and appetizers and good conversation and then we got to peruse the game store and I got to play pin ball.
Dead Man's Chest was really only half a movie..but I really liked it. So much stuff interrelated to the first one that I was dying of laughter on many a thing. Like, "Look undead monkey!" Plus the special effects were awesome. Seriously. Can we now do 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea? The fight scenes were classis disney fun but the sword work was quite nice...not too much with the "I hit your sword, you'll hit mine" as seen in other things. Lots of unanswered questions to be hopefully answered in the next movie. Yep, enjoyed it. We had to go home and search IMDB to see who was who. And I now need to do some research on the East India Trading Co...can't actually remember my history well enough to see if they were that nasty or not. It wouldn't surprise me if they were.
Oh, and what was up with the sore on Capt Jack's face the whole movie...I also notice similar stuff on the voodoo girl and that was just plain weird or weird attention to detail.
So, got to bed pretty much on time but I had wacked out dreams. Note to self. Sasparilla before bed, not a good idea. So, hopefully me forgetting my lunch is the worst of things to happen today. I can hope at least.
