Friday through monday...
Jan. 15th, 2007 07:02 amLet us not talk about friday.
Saturday dawned uber early as I was at work at 6am. Left just before noon and got gas and then made it to sushi with time to spare. Which was good since I had things to ponder and write down. Had a very entertaining time with folks and then it was a segue to have chocolate martinis. Then it was to my house and the folks with the coat class. The class was very well attended...looks like about 10-12 people got coats most of the way sewn. Had a quiet evening home by myself making beads and reading. I got to bed shortly after mel got home about 10. Slept wonderfully and got served coffee in bed. Mel was freezing in the shop at 8am (about 20°). He got his new sword done and we were on the road to blossoms right on time at 9am. Was very, very glad that I was wearing my baronial riding coat. Very nice. Got dressed for fighting and we got going pretty good. About 25 people per side with a good rapier contingent as well. Took a weird fall that involved someone pushing me into a charge that I was getting ready to recieve. It left me dazed for a minute from the fact that my torso went one direction and my legs another. Sat out two of the fights and then was back on. We had fun doing a gate battle with the soccer goals and then used a raised road for a bridge. Lots of fun. Got done and loaded by 330. Had BK on the way out and we took the coolidge route home. So, if you are travelling in anything but rush hour...take the oracle road route (unless you live in marana) but its much closer to take than the coolidge route. But Coolidge does have a walgreens, walmart and 2 grocery stores so yeah. Plus a few fast food places as well.
We got home and richard was watching a movie and eating ice cream. I snuggled up on the couch to read before I made us all grilled cheese sammiches. Richard left about 8 and then I tihnk we were both asleep by about 930. I was sore in my mid back from the weirdness of the day but I had heated up my nice thingy from bill and perrin and slept well. Very well. Though I was asleep on my back most of the night which is very, very unusual.
So, the strike is over, though everyone is getting processed this week and I guess will return to work next week. I find out more at my morning meetings. That is okay. I've got lots of deadlines to work on and such and I'll be glad to be back to normal for a while.
