Whirlwind Weekend...
May. 21st, 2007 06:39 amGot off of work on friday and did a good job of cleaning up the house. Got out run my one errand and was able to get to open mat. Had a good 40 min workout, did hit a ceiling fan but worked things out. Got home and napped until gaming group arrived. Chris, I guess, is back in the group. Wasn't told of this minus a mention last week that he would like to come back...sorry that doesn't translate into he's coming back this week. Waited for 4 folks to roll up new characters and the 3 old characters got to figure out our plan for dealing with our undead friends. Everything worked well, I got to be uber cleric and all was well. I really like rolling 14d6 for a damage roll. Stayed up uber late due to the game but I slept good. We got on our way and to the event by 945am. Had a great drive to whetstone and was amazed at how easy it was to go 100mph. Had a grand time at Thunderbolt. Watched the fighting, tickled kids (did you know baroness's come with a good tickle attack?) and bid on auction items. I had put an IOU for a commission of a small festoon in and it went for $50. I was kinda floored by that...but hey, I gets to make more beads.
We got home afterwards to find shanda making us nummy dinner and Richard helping. It was ready just after we were out of the shower. Nummy, nummy alfredo...can't wait for lunch cause I have leftovers (squee!). Then we all got ready for The Red Elvises!!! Ari joined us and we all piled into the new car. The middle person seat belt is funky but we got everyone buckled in and off we went. We got rockstar parking right behind the club and got to meet lots of peeps there. I even gots me some roland time. Woot! The band was late but we had a good time. I danced my butt off and it was good. I don't think I can remember the last time my hair was soaked and dripping from sweat like that. Yeah!!!!! Got home late and we made sure everyone had at least one glass of water before sending everyone home or to bed.
Sunday dawned early. I slept maybe a couple of hours. I kept waking up and the cats were uber annoying. I got up and had breakfast, stretched did my forms and tai chi and I walked through the staff form. I was up way before everyone else but I showered and got dressed and mel and I were out the door by 10:10. The dojo was pretty deserted when we got there and the tables for the judges were completely turned around from what we had practiced with. Paul arrived quite late, course we had seen him at the concert and he had been blitzed. Everything worked out and Chelsea and I did good. We got our gold sashes and mel and I headed to sunflower for foods. Pulled in next to richard's truck and I made the comment "I wonder what he's making for dinner?" Got in and the first comment from hims was "Hey you guys got dinner plans? I wanna make pasties." So yeah, very cool. Got home and we all headed out to joe's. Lunch was great. Patty melts are awesome with mushrooms. Got back and I collapsed into a fitful slumber for a few hours. I awoke overheated and drank some ginger ale and sat under the vent. All good. I got motivated to turn on the kiln and made beads for almost 2 hours. Didn't make many but I worked on certain shapes and combinations. I need to reset my kiln to go just about 1000° for the hold cycle. With opening both bead doors..it cools down by about 50 degrees. Luckily the exhaust fans work great and I was able to keep the room pretty cool while I worked. I got done, had a beer and then had pasties with sweet potato fries. Yum! We got sucked into CSI and boddingtons and finally richard left about 930 and it was time to go to bed. Slept really well but I could have stayed in bed this morning.
Not sure what I can get done today but a bit of cleaning up the house (just a bit of pick up) and going on a bike ride. All good. Well, off to battle harpies once again.
