Such a grand day its was!
Apr. 17th, 2008 06:37 amWell, after my last post I jetted out for a completely girly day. I got my toes done and went shopping! I even managed to sit with a book and my ipod and enjoy a mocha at a cafe! With b-day money from my inlaws and a nice sale I picked up a pair of gingher dressmakers shears at Joanns. I failed at shoe shopping but excelled at bra shopping which was nice. I even picked up some shorts and capris at eddie bauer and then trundled home at 4pm. Mel was home and had just met the UPS truck with my gifty from
fibergeek and
argentlupin which was Purses in Pieces a book on period purse and wallet finds. So COOL!
We relaxed for a bit and had
scribe_ari over to deliver the patented Vodka Bear!. OMG, I'm so lucky to have awesome friends. Linnet was very perplexed over the fact that I wasn't going to put the DVD in RIGHT AWAY...but we had dinner and movies plans. Such a cute bear! Mel and I then changed at went to El Corral for awesome prime rib, tasty tamale pie and had adobe mud pie for dessert. Then we headed out to the movies. We hit the cheap seats and saw National Treasure 2 which was fun and mildly believable up until they got to the Black Hills of SD....cause the lake they show is 18 miles by the way the crow flies from Mt. Rushmore...maybe about 25 miles by car...you can't get there from there..seriously. But it was fun, action and riddle packed and good eye candy. All I can say though is that Ed Harris was channeling Sir Justin for the entire film...creepy but cool.
As we were leaving the theater we ran into Magnus and his wife out for their 14th Wedding Anniversary. Got home and had a relaxing evening and went to be kinda late but eh...that is par for the course this week.
This AM mel finally realized that we both need little bullet thermoses to get us through the day at work. This bad coffee stuff had got to go. (work coffee is from sparkletts...ewwww). So, I will be hitting cabelas catalog soon and I think I saw some there. I've gotta hit miller surplus and sportman's wharehouse in the next few weeks in the search for the good cots for camping at the dye workshop and at pennsic.
