ianuk: (caw!)
Saturday was made of fail most of the day. I was working on mel's banner, developed a font from a period one and figured out that his motto was too long by 1 word to fit it on the banner. Sighs...I tried to squeeze it but it looked like ass...I gave up on it about the time I needed to get ready for Mon's Yule. Course, then I couldn't find half the stuff I needed in the time I wanted...I was having issues getting dressed and my hair was being a pain. We finally get out the door 30 mins late and we get on the road to realize that we didn't have directions. We turn around and the directions onto my ipod from the driveway and then head on down the road. We get to sierra vista and all of the roads we want to take are blocked...finally get to site and the cig smoke out front had me nauseous but we made it. It was at the VFW and it was nice site for a intimate feast. Court was fun and we got to play pass the herald to with Mons, Lady Z did a great job as a stunt herald and a great job as a lady in waiting. The feast was faboo....lots of veggies too. The cranberry sauce was faboo and we got gifted with the left overs. Thanks to lady nish for making our evening with nummy trifle, the cranberry sauce and a gift. Its all about making Ianuk warm this season.

We got home and I changed into jammies and a sweater and got myself working on the banner again. I got all of the other elements drawn up since everything I had was the wrong scale. Now, I must say, that yes, I'm scribe...that doesn't mean I can draw worth a damn...but I guess I have been practicing...so, I set out to draw ivan's turtle and I did it in about 5 mins, got a spiffy anvil done quicker and then I did a laurel wreath, a sun, a Rurikian Trident and a knight's belt all without much never mind. It was weird. Now admittedly, I had what I wanted to draw in front of me...I just needed to scale it but still I got it to work. So, yay me! So, I went to bed happy and determined to just take the font to kinko's and get it reduced the 10% it needed for his overly long motto. yes.

Got up after sleeping pretty well and we headed out to breakfast just the 2 of us...then it was shopping at TJ's for coffee and then to Cost Plus to use a gift cert we had. We got new lanterns for the inside of our pavilion. Plus we got the nummy ginger snap cookies and gifties for the next event. Then we headed home and I left to run 2 final errands (copies) and getting the last part of the gift for Ed and Asa. Then at home, I got the banner all blocked out, got raylee scheduled for working on it and then got to wrapping gifts. Lots of folks were over for workshop day. I did manage to get the gifts wrapped (though I found 2 more I needed to wrap), got dinner made up an in the fridge all before ray showed up. We had a faboo time playing with the banner and had a nice dinner. The painting is way different when using the primer. We got about half way before I was too tired to continue....but it looks good. I should be able to finish up this afternoon with at least the first coats before I head to kung fu/scribal but we shall see how I feel after the allergy testing...last week was the suck. We shall see.

So, this week is looking up on the project front. I have fabric that is crying to be washed and cut into things to be taken to atlantia. I really need to get that going ...probably friday afternoon...I have pants, shirts and fighting coat. Plus a few other surprises. We shall see how far I get. Lots to do.

1. Post about something that made you happy today even if it's just a small thing.
2. Do this everyday for a week without fail.
3. Tag 8 of your friends to do the same.

Day 1 (12/6/2008):
Shopping with the hubby for presents is so fun. We really enjoy doing T4T and the Angel tree and we really reassured a lady that her adult kids were okay for wanting legos. (as our cart was full of them).

Day 2: (12/7/2008):
Office Depot now has a card reader on their copy machine...and I was right on my scaling of the font...10% was all it needed.
ianuk: (overwhelmed)
Yeah, its been a day...and I'm tired...so I'm staying put...dug out the big cappuccino cups for cocoa.

(Put your MP3 player on shuffle, and write down the first line of the first twenty songs. Post the poem that results. The first line of the twenty-first is the title.) This was random...though it liked Sting Tonight...I'm actually thinking of writing on the themes of the paragraphs...could be some interesting stuff...especially Rawhead and Bloodybones from Siouxsie.

I Got U Crawling Up a Mountain
In the middle of the night, I go walking in my sleep
Excuse me, but can I be here for a while
There's a moon over bourbon street tonight

You want to suffer to show me you are angry
Where has the time gone?

I stressed by your freestyle
you move like honey, in my dream last night
had a northern lad, well not exactly had
ah shakota, ahh

We set out on this journey, there were no doubts in our minds.
under the ruins of a walled city
happy and I'm smiling, walk a mile to drink you water.
it seemed so far to go, it took so long to get here
In Europe and America there's a growing feeling of hysteria
We're gonna rock and roll, ra, ra!

Bad word or bad deed unpunished invites grief
Listen as the wind blows
Seen the lights go out on Broadway
Some people stay away from the door if theres a chance of it opening up
Goodbye my love, I am going
