ianuk: (here's looking at you)
Last week was busy with me being a single mom as mel was in Canada for work. He got to see a bit of Edmonton, Calgary and Saskatoon and had a good but tiring time in the cold. He had lots of wool with him.

Benton was pretty good at daycare the beginning of the week and then had a rough Thursday. Oh, well. We get what we get.

Friday we got up at the normal time and dropped the boy off at daycare and then grabbed coffee and headed to Prescott at a liesurely pace. Mary and Andrew were going to be watching Benton over the weekend and picking him up at daycare. We stopped off in Chandler at Cupz N' Crepes for breakfast and then hit The Brass Armadillo. We get a new silverplated silverware set and lots of other things including some christmas gifts. I did manage to score a vintage, mint condition samsonite hat box from probably the 60s or 70s. Its perfect. Its not from the same set as my train case I picked up last time we were there but its spiffy. We headed up to prescott from there and got a late lunch at Pasquale's which is a greek fusion place. The greek nachos were faboo. Then we hit more antique stores (but not all of the ones in Prescott). We got lots more stuff and then shopped around the building where Prescott brewing Co is to get some spices and olive oil. After that we headed to the Granite Mountain Brewing Co for drinks and then to the Raven Organic Cafe. It had just started to sprinkle when we arrived and their upstairs patio isn't really covered for weather. Everyone up there evacuated to the bar below which was quite crowded. Mel had gone to get my coat so I stayed at the top of the landing drinking my beer and knitting until he came back and then we sat at the top of the stairs. The management was way cool and let us sit there since we were the only ones on that floor and they brought us our burgers there. The tangy sweet potato fries were heaven. We finished up dinner and then headed back to the hotel after a quick stop to refill growlers at Prescott Brewing Co. We sat in the hot tub at the hotel for a while to relax...it partially worked. The kids from a hockey tournament were being crazy but they mostly left us alone in the hot tub. We had some beer when we got back to the room and just relaxed.

Saturday we slept way in...it felt so good, got showers and breakfast and then got to Fiber Frivolity right on time. What a fun day. I plied more of the my little pony yarn for [livejournal.com profile] elinor_dear and then finished up the weaving on my tablet loom while chatting away the hours with people spinning, weaving, embroidering, crocheting, knitting, tatting, sewing etc. There was lots of food and just all around fun.

We helped clean up at the end of the day and then headed to Lonesome Valley Brewing Company for dinner. They had only been open a few weeks but still are waiting for their brewing permits but the food was good and the company was good. We knew almost everyone there and had a good few hours relaxing and after hours enjoyed some beer from local brewers and midnight scones made by Kissa and the girls. I knit on my sock the entire time and got a good long ways before we left at 1am. We slept in a ways on Sunday too and got breakfast before heading back up for showers and packing up. We hit Plaza Liquors and Deli before we left the city to pick up mead from Superstition Meadery. We had tried some at Granite Mountain Brewery and it was tasty.

Then we had a very easy trip home. Got home and unpacked, grabbed lunch and then went to pick up Benton at the Miller's. We stayed for a while and then hit the Food Truck Roundup at Civano. We got food from BamBam - Mexican/Asian Fusion and it was tasty. Got home and got Benton into a bath and while I was washing him Mel converted his crib to a bed. We've been lazy in not doing it. He did okay the first night but he did roll off at least a few times. Mel found him curled up on the floor monday morning but since then he's been in bed. Tuesday morning he heard mel get up and opened up his to and said "morning!"

This week has been me getting back to teh gym. It had been 8 weeks (yikes!) and my waistline has been telling me all about it. I did overdo it a bit but it felt good. Today my back is in a "eff you!" kind of mood but I will go tonight and do the circuit room and then head to knit night fun and then some shopping. With us going to Omak on Saturday I need some more pants to get me through a week. (see waistline discussion, le sigh, but honestly most of my pants are 4 years old and just wearing out too).

Pictures from the weekend are here in this album.
