ianuk: (here's looking at you)
Spent the last week in Washington state helping my MIL with the house and saying good bye to my FIL. We went with my BIL And SIL and the grandkids all got to meet and play and have a good time with their grandparents. My FIL is not doing well and we all figure that we have about 2-4 weeks before he finally goes. He's going to get to the point very soon that when he won't feel up to going to dialysis and that will be the end. The cancer won't kill him first, he will just stop getting his blood cleaned and pass away. Its sad and very much him. With two 3 year olds running around his two story house for a week, making lots of noise and bringing in lots of dirt he's already missing our presence. Getting texts to that effect from my MIL is comforting. The amusing thing was my last in person comments from him were a joke about my boobs. He gave me a big hug and pulled me to him and almost lost his balance. It was cute and funny and you can tell where my husband gets his dry sense of humor.

Mel and Rob also did lots of stuff around the house. They put in a venting fan for the stove, sealed the front porch, moved dirt for the landscaping, put in outlets and installed the new dishwasher. I moved dirt with the help of Benton and Viktor under the crawlspace under the porch. That was tiring and dirty and saved Mel and Rob lots of work. I also cooked a lot for all of us and that was nice to do for a big family dinner every night.

Pictures of the trip are here Omak Trip April 2013. Lots of the family. I still need to upload items from my big camera. Got some good pictures of the grandkids on grand dad's tractor and together. I do realize I never got a picture with him.
