Quick Update
Apr. 7th, 2015 01:15 pmWhen last I wrote I was frustrated on many things. Ben’s school has been going not great. We have a plan for improvement and hopefully that works. His fave teacher he says good bye to today and that was sad for me. She is always the first person I see when I drop him off. I only cried when I got in the car this morning. I did get her a nice gift of 3 pairs of crazy socks, a travel cup and a small My Little Pony that I know Benny would have picked up for her.
But that is getting ahead of myself. We had the weekend and it was nice. I stayed up too late and probably got up too early but it was good. Benton got his 4 year check-up and he is according to our doc “square”. He’s 41.6 lbs and 42.25” tall. She couldn’t believe he’d crown 2.5” in two months since he was in for his smashed infected finger. He had grown that much and now its confirmed that he is tall and 86% percentile for everything. She and I talked behavior and how to work things at school and she hears the same thing from lots of 4 year old parents of boys. Boys are dumb and do dumb things and don’t learn some stuff well and love to test boundaries. He got a lot of shots so we made sure to get Eegees on the way home. We hosted the Hrafn Cloak Work night on Friday and that was productive for all. We watched Demolition Man which many folks had not seen. So much fun in that flick, we had to share.
Saturday we got up and Ben and I hit the library and then grocery shopping where tired boy decided he was too tired to be of use and whined. So I took him home and ran more errands which took FOREVER! I seriously hate going anywhere near Tucson Mall and well, my errands took me that direction and traffic was nuts. I got home exhausted and tired and sunburnt on my leg. We had dinner, I worked on laundry and read.
Sunday brought the Easter bunny to the house and Ben got his first taste of a Cadbury egg and his first filled basket. He loved the stuffed bunny we got him and even brought it out to the Grail Tourney.

There were egg hunts and the tourney and crafting and meetings and it was fun. Courts ran long which was the only downer for the day. I realize I like court, I like a bit of schtick but I like efficiency as well. Its hard to balance. I cope though and was glad the household had packed up completely before closing court. Got home and Ben got in to a bath while I got out of my cotehardie and then made dinner. My kirtle was okay but I forgot to powder so when I sweat the underdress stuck and it was uncomfortable. Again another reminder that I need to be smaller. It looked good and I ended up not lacing the sides of my over dress and just let it be loose like a sideless surcote. I cooked a good dinner of steak and chicken with green beans and we had a nice dinner. Ben was so tired from running around all day but he ate well.
Monday work was intense and I didn’t feel very good once it was done. I ran errands for Ari’s bday stuff and then home for a quick dinner before jetting back off to Ari’s for scribble. I managed to get all of the frames set and some of the borders sketched in for Arsenda’s scroll. I started on some figure drawing in it and immediately realized I had leveled up with the Life Drawing stuff. I had asked for Bridget’s help and then realized I didn’t need it. LOL! YAY!
