So, Work was nuts last week...yes, I know I say this every week but we had two people out and things hitting the fan. But I did about 8 hours of OT with my weekend work. So I just shut things down early on Friday. But I had reasons since I needed to see the doctor about my ankle.

So, Wednesday during strength training I was doing trap bar deadlifts and felt my left heel do a weird burning and pulling sensation. It then didn't' want to do anything that caused it to bend. Driving the stick shift made things worse when I drove home. I did mange to do 2 sets of 235x5 before I went up to 255lbs. I even went down to 90lbs and it still hurt so, yeah. It wasn't the weight. So I iced things and took pain killers and limped into work on Thursday. I drove the truck but walking to my desk things hurt. I had worn my brace and kept my leg elevated most of the day. I had called to get an appt and I got it for Friday afternoon. They got me in an its xrays and seeing how that goes and if its still bothering me then PT. The xrays showed nothign obvious. I have a heel spur and a spur on my big toe (I broke the toe in 2008). So I've kept it wrapped and iced at the end of the day through the weekend. I did not enjoy driving the car today to do school drop off so things are not perfect or healed enough. But all of the lifting etc I did helped with some rehab.

So, Saturday i got the wild hair after feeding Ari's cats to ask mel if he wanted to hit our fave estate sale place. He said yes. There we found a neat saw vise for himself and then in the antique section we found a bureau. Its lorge and amazing and maple. Hand made. The front door is a bit warped but it came with the original key and it locks so meh. sO this whole thing involved cleaning up and rearranging furniture in the bedroom and in the studio. So most of the contents that were on the righ hand side of the studio got picked up and moved and sorted. The furniture I could lift and move with sliders with Mel's help but he moved things from room to room since that involved twisting and dodging a kitten who likes to attack ankles. It was a lot of work. We got the bedroom done on Saturday and on Sunday I got the studio done with purging things and then I spent Monday relaxing and then we got the TV we had bought my mom hung up so I can watch movies on a bigger screen than my ipad. cord management took a while and finding a place for the antenna so I can get broadcast TV. So yeah. But ti looks great and I sat with my feet up on my sewing stool and watched some youtube. This is so nice. I can't wait to craft after I work some OT this week.

Reading I'm still working through the two books. But my brain is happy. This makes me so happy Things have places! I still need to purge other parts of the studio but yanno...its okay. That will come when mel gets the shelving done but I want to get the quilt done and that will be out of my studio and then onto our bed if it ever cools off.

Hoping the ankle heals up some but I think PT is probably the thing. I will be heading to the gym tomorrow to see what I can do. if it hurts I won't do it. But I will keep trying to be active and rest it in intervals. I did not ice it last night and I had regrets. I'm going to finish here and then do that while dinner cooks. not sure what I'm making yet but I think sushi bake sounds good. But I'm tired and will be making progress slowly.

Had Ari and Mason over for family dinner of grilled steaks, corn on the cob and sweet potatoes. Everything was on the grill and we sat on the porch while I was cooking drinking beers and mel washed some fleece. It was nice to chat and relax.

Spicy was HELPING thank you, she takes her supervision work very seriously.

Cyborg keeps telling me how nice Ianka's workroom looks now, and then staring pointedly at me. Heh.

I assume that cabbage doesn't actually mean farty leaves ;)

Clothes were easier than crafting supplies, I found.

Thinking about the Bomb Factory, and things always being nuts. You do say that a great many times. Which makes me wonder about the management style the company uses. If things are never sedate -- which is a quality much to be desired when working with explosive ordinance -- perhaps there's a flaw in the corporate approach? Not anything actionable, obviously, but it made me think.

You're playing at a level I've never even approached, so all I can say is, "wow, sounds like you've got a handle on it!" and "You go!"
