The last week before the weekend of Crown was my working 60 hours, not sleeping much, getting mel a pair of pants made and trying not to lose my mind. I was working the weekend on a proposal things I needed to finish by monday AM. I did that and get things moving. We had a meeting on Wednesday with Engineering (company) leads and I was told at 2pm I needed to redo the big presentation from the month before and I had to have info from estimating and I to got that at 7pm on Wednesday night. I worked until almost 11pm and was back at work just before 7am since the data I got was crap. I had to get folks to do what I needed and then got things handled but I was editing slides until 1129am. I presented at 1130am. It went until almost 1pm. My own department was being shitty and I had to go come up with a metric that I knew, my CE's knew was correct but we needed data. I had all of that completed by 9pm Thursday and then Friday had to cajole department leads concurrence on action items and then get everything closed. We had that done by 1pm Friday. I then had time to sit and watch a presentation and finish the pants for Mel. We finished up the day and I then hit costco and safeway while Mel got the van packed. I managed to pack all of my stuff, pull out clothes to pick from in the AM.
Benton had spent hours riding his bike and went to bed...he did not eat enough dinner but went to sleep quickly. Saturday morning though I was tired but was getting things moving and he was being an asshole. He hadn't packed the night before, was wearing a tunic too small and could not find the ones I bought him 3 weeks ago. There was screaming, yelling and my husband was furious. We got into the car and down the road in fuming silence. I then missed a turn, had to flip a bitch in an illegal cross over since the next exit was 20+ miles and then got to site to find we didn't have a spot to set up. I was so tired and that broke me a bit. Mel found us a weird spot and we got things setup and then to be told to move. a baronial pavilion was missing a ridge so we got their spot. We had lots of non-household help to get things up but I was almost in tears. I also had realized that I had managed to miss my brain meds the night before and the exhaustion was just oof. I was not my best. I didn't yell, I didn't blame anyone or make anyone feel they were at fault...it was my own issues. But we got moved, got setup and then we could relax a bit and then court started which we just chilled in the tent during. I was calming down and drinking my coffee and life was better and Benton was out of our eyesight at the youth academy.
The day was okay, there were some bouts I was like "huh" and mel had fun being the by fighter and did very well against Morgan (who ended up winning). There was a meltdown by one of the fighters who just needs to nut up. But the finals were tense. Liz and I have stood together for years and well this round felt like the two of us baroness's watching our baron's fight a dirty final all over again. Most folks probably didn't notice though our crown was taking an active, and exemplary role in making sure things were discussed etc. The last bout of the 3 was decisive and clear who was the victor and that is what counted. But it was good to stand with Liz and I'm happy she's our princess. I'm also glad we made arrangements for dinner during the hostage dinner theatre hours. We had food out and noshed and when the nights finally came back from circle they could eat and we had lanterns and when they called the laurels up Willa and I grabbed two lanterns to light the way. The crown was pleased...as no one realized it was going to be dark shortly (head desk).
I've got more after this tomorrow.
