Taking a break from beads/sewing/cleaning for an update...man do I love days off!

Friday evening's class went well. Had fun teaching sorcha-megan her new one-steps. Got a good workout even though the hip is screaming at me that it will fall off soon. I limp home to find the kitchen full of cooking smells and kung fu. Mel's sifu and Chris were over for dinner. So, I clean up the cluttered table and proceed to getting out samples of cordials while mel cooks dinner. We chat, drink, BS and were in bed quite late. Though I must remember to make Chris and Mel watch "The Glass Slipper" sometime when its not so late. They were confused when I started watching it and doing a WTF looks to each other from the kitchen.

Saturday morning was pleasant (yeah!).  We met [livejournal.com profile] desertmoloch  and [livejournal.com profile] xilan for Spiderman 2.  Cecelia-Megan and Walrick met us too but had hit a later show since Dan had fandangoed for us.

Spidey! (With Spoilers) )

Spent the rest of the day shopping for a tent for pennsic (Popular had a great one on sale), costco and Joanns.  Came home and did some sewing and beads and then off on the hunt for a swim suit again.  I tried kohl's and finally Walmart had a quite smart suit that actually fit.  I'll have to post a photo here from the digicam.  Mel played Masters of Orion until late but I didn't care.

Sunday morning we both got up at 7am and hit the streets on our bikes.  Mel did 14 miles while I did 7.  It felt really good to get out there and have a good time.  I'm in much better shape than last year and the last three miles up hill weren't as bad as I remembered. Spent the rest of the day doing beads and sewing until I hit Sunflower market for meat for Misha's party.  I made a big batch of hummus (which went over really, really well).

We got to Misha's early and took over cleaning from Della and helped get the house set up. I swam about 10-15 laps while the kabobs were cooking and then settled into massive amounts of protein and ID4.  The rest of the evening was spent talking with everybody, watching bits and pieces of Master and Commander and dunking Expresso in the pool.  The fireworks weren't too bad but I think they were better last year.  Mingo brought two great things to the party.  1) Bottles of ?, which was unlabled homebrew he found while cleaning out his house.  The second was a book "Brewing in the Middle Ages and the Rensaincce."  Its the only copy in Atenveldt since mingo got Johanna's store copy.  Mel was good and flipped through it and promptly took it to the car so he would be social and not a book worm.  I'm sure he'll be reading it tonight during scribble.

Well, beads and sewing are calling...gotta finish cleaning the house too and maybe get some lunch.  Later!
