Plugging along...
Jul. 6th, 2004 09:27 amWell, the morning has been good. I've got just a few more signatures and the drawings from the last two weeks will be released. Got another on my desk I'm waiting for someone to update one part and then it can be sent in for release. Other than that its mass properties and drawing trees updates today.
Got an invite for a dinner on wednesday. Wednesday mel planned on bottling beer and I was going to talk with him about our class next week on Early Russian Stuff. So, I guess I'll do some research today and see if I can start our hand outs. We're gonna do a couple of patterns (caftan, dress and hat) and a brief history. The history is the part that we'll have to hammer out. It will be from the founding to about 1250. Plus I have to finish up some more documentation. Just a few more tweaks on the dress documentation and then complete the bead documentation. That should be done by next week, just got to look up the difference between modern and medieval glass, I've got the book somewhere.
What does everybody like in handouts? I'm thinking of a timeline, a map, important figures folks might have heard of, a nice bibliography and then the patterns. So, lots to do this week. (When don't I) I will be heading out to FP tonight. I need to work some of the soreness out of my system. The hip is back in place but the abducter muscles around it are screaming at me and the ankle is stiff. That's okay.
Started the gold leaf on the russian scroll and I now know why this is not the standard for scrolls. Its pretty but its time intensive and annoying but it will look great. So far I'v used one whole sheet of gold for the background and now have the border todo plus some filler in the very center. I think with more practice it will be fine.
Well, off to manage mischief!
