Fri/Sat recap
Jul. 3rd, 2005 04:27 pmSo friday was good, got lots of errands ran. Our gaming group was tired so we adjorned at 11pm. I stayed up reading a while and that was good. Awoke Saturday morning and got up and called my mom. Had a good talk with her. Mel was a zombie most of the day. Got going on the A&S front. So, two projects out of 5 offically started. Though on the sewing the mockup has been completed but it is still progress. So, then Ed/Candace and Ari stopped by. Ari and I headed out for pedicures (I so needed one) and had a good chat. Then I rushed home changed and headed to the black belt ceremony at mel's dojo. Sat through the ceremony and the sake serving. (every candidate serves their teacher and vice versa) Then we had nummy food. Got mel home and then headed out to DV8, got an iced mocha on the way and met the girls.

aten_sibilla scored us entrance into the VIP suite, free CD's and we got to meet the two singers of Vertical Horizon. They sounded great and I was much impressed when after a great and long guitar solo they ventured into Elenor Rigby. Renee kept looking at Ari and I as we were singing along at the top of our lungs..so much fun. Then we all danced on the catwalk for a while and then hit the dance floor. I have to say we missed out purse bitch but the bass amp worked just as well. About midnight we headed out to IHOP (tasty fries). My new shoes were good, the only thing that really hurt was martial arts bruising so, good shoes. We stayed about an hour and then all headed to out homes.
I got in about 2am and managed to washup a bit before falling into bed. I awoke about 8:30 when mel got up. I had some water, took a shower and then finished reading my book. I was gonna get up but obsidian came crying into the room. I lifted the blanket and she crawled in. I was immediately asleep. Buttefly was also under the covers and I slept another 1.5 hours. Which was good. Was awoken byzippy_d_clown phoning to see what was up. I said "Project Day" He said "I'll be over..." So, I got dressed, had lunch (we so need to go shopping) and got settled into my craft room lurking over my light table. I think I've decided to not do a full folio page for my C&I project....still pondering. So, zippy and mel were playing with brass, I was being a good tracer and then we headed to joann's and radio shack. I needed gum arabic, mel needed acid etch. So, again..mel is a thread/fabric whore. He got some wool for pants and tunic. Dude, the plaid will make Tarrach proud. So, then we went to radio shack where they had a really cute stainless steel phone that would be perfect in the kitchen...we're pondering it. So, I've got dinner in the crockpot (raspberry chipotle chicken), the boys just went to get beer and I think I will be cutting out tunics for mel and getting another practice mockup together to test out my trapezoid theory..though I should just cope and cut out the real fabric... I have plenty. We shall see.
