Tuesday....
Jan. 11th, 2006 07:25 amSo, work was, work..annoying etc. Got home and started in on cutting out mel's cuff and collar. Then I fought with the serger for a about 15mins while it needed to be rethread cause I broke a thread. I'm a mechanical engineer and now having dealt with 4 differnt brands of serger this Juki brand is easier to thread but still not the ideal situation. Luckily they give you two sets of tweezers to thread with but I'd just make the front part removeable so I can just touch everything at once. But hey, I design missiles not sewing machines. Got all of the serging done and then set down to do the embroidery. I got 1 cuff completed and the other cuff half way done before we had to go to FP.
I had fun at FP. It had been 10 years since I played light weapons...sorry, rapier but all of the other martial arts now made it okay to transfer back to. My instincts are there but since it was dark and the tips are black I had a hard time tracking the tips. Luckily war is in the day time and only draw cuts and thrusts are legal so I should be okay. I do need to build a buckler though..that was way too much fun. Got to chat with lots of folks, make some recommendations to the melee fighters and we got home about 10:20.
The bread was still warming in the machine and I immedieately cut into it for bread and butter with the hubby. I got tea, a shower and then settled in bed to finish the last half of the cuff. I finished it just as I finished my tea. Perfect. Still concerned about getting things done. But I have all afternoon and evening to do stuff tonight. I may skip out on Art's Night if I'm on a roll.
So, the list as it stands: (** means hopeful completion tonight)
1) Sew on tablet woven trim to under dress (its pinned on)**
2) Bead arm bands/bottom trim to over dress
3) Attach trim from #2
4) Embroider 3 medallions on mel's collar**
5) Embroider 1 medallion each on mel's cuffs
6) Embroider 3 medallions on mel's bottom trim** 1 left to go
7) Attach cuffs**
8) Attach collar
9) Attachfront/bottom trim
10) Sew on buttons and loops on mel's caftan
Though depending on how tonight goes and thursday goes I may take a few hours off on friday to finish so I can have fun and relax with dinner and then the 13th night party with the hubby.
