Got to work all happy and got my prototype hardware made, hit some meetings and them met with my rep about the prototype....unfortunately my rep and the mat'l engineer from the vendor agreed that the extra temp would not do good things to the hardware...suxors...

We brainstorm for an hour sitting with the hardware, me showing off the analysis...they have an idea. I suggest that they make a "intense non-commercial grade" of the stuff I had chosen cause everyone luved it minus the low temp threshhold. So, hopefully monday I will hear back to see if they could scrounge some samples...other wise it will be 2 weeks while we spend money on something that might now work...Ugh. So annoyed. Especially after the great peer review and the fact that they fit checked worked..even though I clughed it together with scissors. The Suck...

So, went to a CCB meeting just as my changes were coming onto the agenda...sat for 10 mins to explain the 2 items and left to send out dooming emails and then left the office for the day for the demo. My pager started going off as we were driving but I ignored it.

Had a good time at the demos...though I think I talked too much and by the end I was hot and tired and STARVING since we hadn't had lunch but we had to go to mel's dentist appointment. I sat and finished the sleeve for the dress I hope to wear on Sunday and then we came home. Got some lunch and then we crashed. The cats were lolling in sun patches near the couches and I snuggled up on the couch and mel on the floor and we died for over 1.5 hours. Think all of the time in the sun and the late nights this week added up. Felt really good afterward and Richard came by to wake us up and do more wood working.

Mel and I picked up the house and got things to the point of just needing to do one more set of dishes and vacuuming today. We headed off to kung fu which is getting slightly better or I know have figured out how to ask the right questions to get answers that make sense. Anyhoo, I got to learn one of the sequences of Little Mantis and I learned Dropping Horse Defense which really really looks like kung fu. Its got dropping stances, swan stances (looks like a fancy post) and many things that are very much kung fu. Its the step before you learn first form and many of the elements in it are repeated in almost every form. Though the night was gruelling and my hips and knees ached from the learning...just need to strengthen more.

I get to be at work for quite a while to make up time from yesterday and do some more analysis on the new idea for the seal. Hopefully I can verify the fit and get some slides ready to show off of the probables. Sigh...so annoyed. Even andrew my buddy engineer was annoyed that a good design was foiled by temp...grrr...especially when I had run the usage cases versus production...usally production is not stressful...weird. Oh, well, water meet bridge and slide by.

Well, kinda work related. The part that I was working on was a urethane base and some one commented they thought that they used high temps on urethane to make phosgene during WWI (see http://www.bt.cdc.gov/agent/phosgene/basics/facts.asp for more information..it could of could not be true). Phosegene made me think of the most famous latin phrase I can remember which is Dulce et Decorum Est Pro Patia More meaning "It is sweet and becoming to die for one's country."

So, I bring you the poem...
Dulce Et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen

Once you are tagged, write a blog entry about your 6 weird habits/things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next six people to be tagged and list their names.

1) I dip my fries in Mayo. Yes, its weird. Yes, its high in fat but gods is it tasty. I started doing it when we had an exchange student in my class in HS.

2) I can't sleep if a closet door is open. I had the closet of CarolAnne in Poltergeist when I was growing up and I saw that part of the movie at the wrong age.

3) I, at times, change my underwear multiple times a day. Dunno why..I've always done that.

4) I too have to be covered with a blanket while sleeping, even if its 100 out I have to have a cover.

5) I have to clean my house before I work on any projects...if I don't I feel like I'm slacking and it will bug me so much my creative juices are shot.

6) I turn the tv on in the house, even if I'm not in the room or watching it.
