Friday was kinda a waste of a day...lots of people were out for holiday and I didn't have much to work on but statusing many, many projects and doing some analysis. I can say though that my new camera got ordered and I am now in LUV with CHO-CHO Bear and Something Positive. I warn you it updates almost every day since 2002...don't get sucked in.

I didn't get to have drinkies with the coworkers...people were too busy trying to get things done. I got home and changed shoes and went to costco. I was a zoo when I got there but when I was doing shopping the lines were non-existent. They didn't have the dvd's I wanted but that was okay. I changed clothes and biked my standard route. It was the SUCK!!! I had wind for 3/4 of the ride and it was brutal. I got home and had to take my inhaler. I rested a bit and showered/changed for Ari's b-day party. All good there. She liked her new tea cup. Got really tired and allergy-ish while we were watching an really dumb movie (Erik the Viking We left and I a crashed when we got home. Mel woke up well before me on saturday and I was not a happy morning person. I had forgotten to take my benedryl before bed and was all stuffed up and eye gooky. I got served coffee and allergy meds in bed and I stayed there until I finished Dresden. Wow is all I can say without spoiling things. I was very happy that they resolved quite a few issues. Got up from reading the book and biked my altered 6.5 mile route. It was glorius and beautiful outside. I then got home, made lists and ran errands for a few hours. I even found a grill I liked and after running home for lunch I went and picked it up. I will have to say that the folks at Thermos need to correspond their parts lists with their diagrams and take a peak at how Lego and IKEA do planning. Much better that way. I would have been doing much sooner had I started with power tools but I'm stubborn and got blisters instead. I did get to watch Kinky Boots and that was great before I called quits on the grill and went out to see East2West at the French Quarter. Had a marvelous time with Monkey at the bar and the band was really good. Much better than when I heard them six years ago at their first paid gig. The beatles set was great and I had a good time dancing. Got home and spent sometime chatting with the hubby before falling asleep.

Sunday dawned very similarly to saturday but I wasn't as snuffly. We got on our bikes and met richard for breakfast at joe's. All good there. Richard then came over to help me with some fan installation and then he worked on arrows. Mel worked on the last shelf for the brewery and smoking meat for dinner. I broke in the new grill and all was good. I started reading Kim Harrison's Dead Witch Walking and I'm 3/4 through and still not sure if I like it or even care about the characters. I think its just that the world is like shadow run met the cold war that things are weird. Who knows. I'll see I guess. Next on the reading list is the 2 books that followed Naomi Novick's "His Majesties' Dragon" and another vamp book called Bitten. So, at least I'm not lacking for reading material. I made us carrots to go with the chicken and ham we had for dinner. Then the 3 of us watched Casino Royale. Very, very different Bond movie. Still not sure I like it but M is still the bomb. I miss the gadget shtick but there were only a few "bullocks!" moments for believability which I guess is good. Then we watched the new episode of Dresden which was on later than normal and wow...very cool.

Today is monday and things are going mostly good. I'm a bit sleepy from staying up late and things are falling into place for the week it seems. I have to travel on Thursday for business to Phoenix and I hope to convince the co-workers that a trip to Cornish Pastie company is in order. Then I get a 4 day weekend due to the 9/80 friday and I'm taking my b-day off. I'm looking forward to Tuesday when my camera arrives. It should be most fun to play with.
