Weekend Wrapup
Apr. 23rd, 2007 07:00 amFriday after work I biked almost the full 10.5 miles. I was coming up towards alvernon on the bike path and I had the feeling that I should turn around. So I slowed, geared down and started to turn around just at the bridge and I saw a pack of wild dogs trotting the other direction. I quickly pedaled away and didn't look back until I was on golflinks. Kinda surreal. Got home and cleaned up the house and then hug out and chatted with Jessie since he was joinging our game. Mel made a nummy pot roast and I got more caught up on things like S*P. The game was good though things were a bit messy. Need a better plan of attack for a haunted castle. We'll see if we survive. Killer plants are teh suck. Shanda got to the house uber late but we chatted with her for a while after the game. Unfortunately, I didn't sleep worth a hoot and was not myself in the morning. I finally got moving and we made it to the archery shoot on good time. It was a cool day and the wool was a good thing. Got finished with the tourney and then we headed home for lunch. Had grilled cheese and leftover soup and that was good. I then got a small nap before shanda, mel and I went bike shopping. We hit 3 stores and mel and I now have some ideas of what we want. I'm torn between a FUJI and a SCATTANTE. Both good prices at about $650-850 and I test drove them and it was good. I just need to figure out and maybe test drive them again. We also realized that my body is odd for bike sizing. I have short legs, an uber long torso and large palms with short fingers. Many adjustments had to be made so I could ride. We did end up getting clipless pedals and shoes and mel a new helmet. Got home and I made keylime pie and rhubarb pie and mel made a nummy dinner. We all relaxed and watched Grosse Point Blank. I went to be shortly there after and was out until 7am when we got up and went for a bike ride.
The new pedals and shoes were something to get used to. I only had one mishap in the shop where I fell over but I was able to clip out before I hit the ground. We did the full 10.5 miles but my knees, especially the left one were not happy about it. Getting power generation on both the downstroke and the upstroke makes you use different muscles and mine were protesting. Had a bit of a hairy situation at Craycroft and golf links where I couldn't get clipped in out either side and barely made it to the median while the lights changed. Got home and we changed out of biking gear and made it to joe's and we all sat at the counter(mel, me, shanda and richard). All was good. Shanda had only been to joe's once before and we all luv the view from the counter. So many good things come out of that tiny kitchen. Got back to the house were busy with showers and packing the truck. The trailer got picked up and we were out the door by 10am. The event went really, really well. The food provided by the college was really good and well received. I even liked the veggie burgers. Courts were good and we like breaking in out Deputy Herald. We could not have asked for a more perfect day for weather. Good day. Ari, I have the court report but I need to make copies. Got home via Wander and mel was unloading the trailer with Ulfgard. Got changed, mel got showered and then we headed out to celebrate Kae's b-day and mine a little late. We headed to TGIFriday and had a good time. Got home and hung out with Wander. I attempted to do the calligraphy I need to do and didn't do very well. Ugh. I should have done it Saturday night but I failed then too. So, I don't think I will get the A&S scrolls ready for tonight...it will probably be Wednesday. Sighs. Oh, and![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif) dragonflykeep, I think Darby Conley was thinking of you when he wrote this COMIC.

So, hopefully today I will get something going that works. We shall see.
