Back in the Desert
Aug. 10th, 2008 01:02 pmWell, when last we wrote I was in the airport on our way to pennsic. Here we are home again. It was a good war...good fighting, icky bruises (cup shots suck, especially when the bruises make the boys cringe), good shopping, fun sombrero times, meeting old and new friends and getting to hang out with people in a drama llama free environment for a week. I'm so relaxed that I really can't remember when I'm supposed to be doing at work tomorrow and I'm very, very okay with that.
At some point I'll post the huge pennsic post but I'm relishing in a comfy day. We woke at 7am and got up...watched the olypmic tv and then walked to breakfast at joe's. We'd done so much walking over that last week it felt good to walk to and from breakfast. Joe's was hopping at 8am..we are usually there an hour later and the wait staff was uber busy and happy to see regulars who don't mind a wait. Had a breakfast burrito and was in heaven with the spicy salsa...PA has no idea what spicy or mexican is...got back and mel went to the shop. I got a call from mom and then I looked through the entirety of the firemountain gem catalog and then made my purchases for the upcoming commission. It took me hours. 1200+ page catalog and then I made over 25 individual things to purchase. Got a big discount due to volume and $5 shipping. All good. Now I think I will get my studio set up for glass and start putting away things from the war. Our armor bags will arrive on wednesday some time and that includes more dirty clothes and 15 yards of linen to be washes as well. Shopping was good...bought 20 books and quite a few antiquities. I see many more neat things coming out of the furnace. I also bought myself some jewelry and a few gifts for folks. Looking forward to getting back on my bike tomorrow. I walked a lot and I'm even thinner than when I left but I need to get back on the wagon of good eating...though I didn't do too bad while at the war.
