Busy few days
Aug. 19th, 2010 09:42 amWell, work has gotten interesting. Looks like my days of being bored are over. I've got a bunch a travel coming up in Sept and October and future trips to our final suppliers as well. Gonna be busy. So, I'm okay with that but man I didn't expect that. Eh.
I worked on an analysis yesterday for a guy who had no idea why it would take hours to do. When you have 5 things that go together, the tolerances statistically stack up and they needed a point that isn't on the drawing to reference to. meowandbark's hubby I managed to get close to the end and he was working on the geometry. I'm not good at it and I was really glad for his help. Once I saw his solution this am I get what it is doing but I would never have come up with it on my own.
Been trying to finish the fugly wash cloth I'm making Oscar. Sorry,desert_moloch its pretty ugly but at least it won't show stains. The knit group was about 75/25 hate/love of the pattern with that colorway. I'm just finding knitting washcloths are a bit slow in my opinion, so the rest will be crocheted. Maybe its just the pattern or that I'm using cotton so I'm going slower, not sure but its slow.
Hit the gym yesterday since I missed tuesday do to my ineptitude to grab my gym bag. I did legs and still not liking it. Not sure if its the weight or what but I was really wiped when I was done. I only walked didn't run my most of a mile and I was sluggish afterwards too. Today the quads are already tight. Grump. Course this could be the lack of sleep on Tuesday night due to staying up too late and cats being obnoxious. Obsidian has recently decided that were my feet are is her spot to sleep. I get up to the the bathroom and can't move her cause she's dead asleep. So, I've been having to fight for space. Not sure where butterfly is sleeping but its not in bed with us. Gonna have to kick obsidian off for a knight and see what happens.
So, had a really funny QotD at Knit night. Somehow we were talking about birds. Someone commented that cactus wrens were pretty except for their calls. Then our lone guy knitter commented that they are pretty until they come out of the dryer. We all started laughing and then got to hear the story. When he was living at home in high school his mom would do his laundry. She'd hang things on the line for a bit before putting them in the dryer. Well, oen day a cactus wren ended up in the pocket of a pair of his jeans and it and the laundry got put in the dryer. You can imagine how it was discovered. It was so funny. Got a laugh out of mel and medric (he stopped by to get the throne pieces that Richard had finished) with that story.
Mel hit his shower early and I was watching tv and reading through Happiness and Cyanide. I guess I fell asleep while I was reading. Mel had to wake me up to get me up to take my shower. Yup, the day wore me out.
