Wow, its thursday already?
Oct. 7th, 2010 09:50 amWell, I'm in town until Sunday when I get to travel. My trip got moved late yesterday and I'm okay with that. I like being home for a week or so its good. Gonna be a quick jump of fly in sunday and come home late Monday.
Mel's got a cold but he was still able to finish putting on the shellac on the new kitchen box and get it put in the kitchen...then he crashed last night. Its pretty and matches the racing stripe red in the kitchen. Here is a slightly blurry iphone picture...the lighting was weird.
But its neato and he dated it as most furniture was dated in the 17-18th century. Pretty darn cool and the shellac makes it shiny!
I hit the gym after work and it was weird. My favorite machine at falcon field isn't at LA fitness in the same form. I love the assisted dip/pullup and I had gotten myself down to about 80lbs of assist but since the new machine you kneel on it versus stand at the old machine I had to bring things up to 110lbs of assist and I still couldn't get my full set in. That was discouraging but I did go through and do a light dumbell bench press/angled bench press, tricep pulls and felt pretty good. I ran/walked my mile. Though my running portion was way low. Eh, I'll work it up. Need to see about getting a band to wear while running to support the tummy better since the podling was a bit annoyed with the bouncing. Course its been 3 weeks since I ran and my CG is different too so that could also be my issue. Other than that though, all good. Got a gyro salad at the greek place in the mall and then headed to knit night. Had a really nice time and worked on my market bag. I'm almost to where the pattern starts I'll be working on that tonight while doing laundry. Tomorrow I'll start the next piece of embroidery since the deadline is at the end of the month and I have a few more to do. All good though.
Mel was sitting and working on his socks when I got home but he looked miserable. We hit bed about 930pm and I slept pretty good. I did not want to get out of bed though and it was tough to get out from the warm covers. But I got to work and things have been chugging along. Since I'm here today a lot of the stuff I couldn't get to now needs to get worked etc. So busy is good. I will probably leave a bit early tomorrow since I have to work sunday and that will be nice to get the house in order for game night and try to straighten out my studio.
Mel and I are going to sell the deacon's chairs in the family room this weekend at Dragon's Horde so I will be able to look for another futon style couch for that space. That way we have more guest sleeping area and it will be comfy to sit with the baby. I want to have an ottoman for blanket and toy storage and mel has plans on making more boxes to put by the fire place for that and I hope to paint them fun colors and designs for the podling and the kids that come over.
Oh, btw, Ari is gonna do the shower in later February and we have come up with Sheep for the nursery. We had a flock of stuffed ones from that incident with us taking all of Ered Sul's sheep when we were B&B. We gave most of them back but they multiplied as sheep do. So, sheep stuff is cute just no more stuffed ones. I found a cute sheep quilt on Woot a few weeks ago and its very sweet.
So, that is yesterday and today is flying by. Hoping to have a good evening of projects and then work on the house tomorrow and have a fun time at Dragon's Horde on Satuday.
