Well, in a 7 days of work I put in 83 hours. Oof. I can say by the time I got home after knit night I was dragging. My brain is tired and I think I typed more paperwork than I have since college it felt like but its done and I downloaded my brain into two coworkers brains on two projects and that went well. Left work later than I had planned but the last 30 mins was saying goodbye to the guys and the EE's were really funny and pretty mooshy. I headed out and felt lighter mentally leaving and that was good. I headed straight to knit night and stopped by Eegees on the way to get food. Well, I didn't need to do that since the girls at Grandma's threw me a surprise baby shower. Wow. There is still one gift coming from them...they are making a heritage quilt style afghan with everyone making different squares. I got a picture of the completed squares and its gonna be really fun and unique. I worked on the baby sweater in between eating and chatting and then headed home with some cake to share with mel.
He had a very relaxing night of playing video games and was in good spirits. Richard was over working on his bee boxes. He had given himself a hair cut and I have to say it looks really good. Very rockabilly with his beard. Very cool. I sat and knit until it was bed time and I was tuckered out. Mel had texted me while at work to say that he was sorry but I wasn't going to be sleeping in cause the concrete guys were coming to dig the plot for the forms for the floor of the shop. I coped.
The guys have a small Cat 470 in the backyard getting things dug up. The bluestake was correct for things that are active but they've found an old phone line, an old power line, a concrete footing and an irrigation line. We the think the 3 latter pieces are from the old above ground pool that was in the yard before we bought the house. Pour guy driving the Cat was a bit nervous when they got the phone line up. Poor guy. But its going well. When I first went out to talk to the foreman I had a bowl of ceral on the stool by the couch...when I came back it was pretty empty. Buttefly had helped herself to my lucky charms. Damn cat.
So, I spent so far this am chatting with the concrete guys, smacking the cat around and getting pictures of the wonderful stuff we got last night.
So, here are some pictures ( Surprise Baby Shower stuff )
So, now the concrete guys are done with the big digging and will come back and finish tomorrow to set up the forms. I now have the rest of the day to rest and run some errands. I need to finish up some nursery stuff like buying the fabric for the curtains, washing up the stuff we just got and in general getting things picked up around the house. The biggest thing though is I'm gonna rest. Naps are going to be likely and I'm good with that.
