Well, its the second day of work since we got back from vacation and I can tell that I have a little over 2 weeks of work left for the year cause the work is piling up. I need to get on that.

The trip home was good. I'll have an album of the pictures up soon. I need to get the pictures off of mel's camera. Currently for flickr friends there are most of the pictures off my phone but here are few highlights.

It was a bit chilly in the mornings on the farm:

Benton got to eat Turkey!

Mel and I did stuff around the house for my mom. I figured out why the dryer wasn't working right (blocked duct), Mel burned trees/trash in the pit and we got pictures and speakers up and I did a bit of plumbing with some faucet seal changes. We got to see [livejournal.com profile] fibergeek's MIL and we got to go antiquing and to Cabelas. All very nice. We did not get to see all of the family and friends we wanted to...the time just kept running away from us. Benton did really good on the flights. Our only major issue was that mel left his wallet in Tucson which we discovered when we were at lunch in phx. luckily we were able to hit the DMV to get a new license so he could get on the plane and we ran into some SCA friends while waiting so it wasn't all bad. Just annoying and a bit stressful at the time.

Now we are back and Benton has not been liking getting up in the mornings. Course neither do I. If we didn't have to go to work I'm pretty sure he would sleep in till 8am or so. I feel for the little guy. He was a trooper with all of the travel including getting put into the car for a trip to Mitchell. Mel and I left him with my mom for the return trip to Mitchell and he did really good with her.

Sunday we had breakfast at Joe's and then headed to the zoo and got to see the new lion cubs. They were happily piled on each other sleeping in the sun. Benton tracked a couple of birds and the giraffe so that was awesome. It was the first time he was awake and alert for a zoo trip. Then we headed over for a quick walk around the rose garden and then to an arts and craft fair in the park. We bought some xmas prezzies and that was neat. Then it was home with a cranky boy who didn't want to nap...but we dealt okay with that. He finally went down at 5pm and then we had a nice evening at home.
