Weekend in review
Dec. 5th, 2011 10:38 amI swear that it was just Thursday but now its monday again. Weird but true.
Highlights of the weekend:
Mel and I saw the Muppets on Friday. OMG so much fun! Not sure if kids will find it as amusing as we did since we got all of the jokes. I was cracking up. Really good musical numbers as well and for once Jack Black made me laugh.
We did a bit of Xmas shopping...need to do a bit more though and of course finish all of the stuff I'm making. I wish I had a few more weeks but I'm way behind and I'm sure some presents will get shipped after the holiday. Oh, well. Next year I need to start my Xmas crafting in September not late November.
Saturday was the Pas de Arms. We had to deal with a 20 min screaming fit from Mr. Benton while we were packing up. That was not fun, but he napped on the way to the event and got over it. The event went really , really well and folks had a really good time. I left early due to the weather starting to turn. It didn't really rain at the site but the temp dropped and that meant it was time for the boy and I to go home. I was tired too which didn't help matters. Mel had to send me to again after falling asleep on the couch.
It rained the entire time I was home and mel got home shortly after 4pm or so. We had a nice evening of family dinner and then it was time to hit Sean's going away party. We were in the know that
zippydclown and
alyedcypsser were getting hitched at the party. It was a really nice time. I was DD and Benton slept most of the night in the guest crashed out in the packnplay. I had a really nice time...lots of fun folks to chat with, I did some knitting and then I sat with Kane and I don't think I've laughed that hard in a long time. My face hurt when we got home at 1am. Oof...that hurt.
We got up early on Sunday to have breakfast with Malaius and Jaylee. It was a nice time at Joes and then it was home to work on projects. Mr. Benton was having issues. He wanted to be held but not be cuddled and kept trying to crawl all over. After I got him down for a good nap we went to Grandma's and had a nice time there. I got home and fed him and he was back to being a crank. I left to go shopping and came back tired. Got everything we needed and then mel worked on dinner. Figured out that Mr. Benton wanted his teethers and then life was better. I got the front room cleaned up and all of the laundry done (just not put away yet darnit) for Benton and I. Mel worked and had gotten the family room cleaned so we could get the tree in place. Its up but not decorated. I need to figure out power routing for the tree and the train. I hope to make more progress on that tonight.
Mel mad nummy chinese food for dinner and we gave benton ramen noodles. He liked them a lot and he ate a ton of them. So cute to watch. He did really good and we are moving more to more solids every day.
After Benton went to bed and I'd sorted through the pile of mail still left from our vacation I got to work on trying to finish
fibergeek's xmas gift. I have just a bit of the border left and ends to weave in and I'll call that done. Viktor's gift is going nicely and its getting closer to being done...hopefully this week.
I'm now to the point where I need to make my lists for the end of the year and figure out what to do for things at work and home. I'm also trying to figure out my PTO plans. I hope to take all of the last week of work off and its looking pretty likely as long as I get everything done. Which means I have 9 days to do a lot of stuff. Eek. Better get cracking.
