Weekend and stuff...
Jan. 31st, 2012 12:37 pmA made a post on my fighting filter...if you want on that just ping me...most of the old readership doesn't seem to read/be here anymore which makes me think I should just make it a general friend filter...we shall see. So, other than fighting a lot this weekend I did a bit of crafting.
Benton got his helmet off about 3 weeks before mel and I thought he would. He's hit that growth spurt and the pants he wore last week that had to be rolled up don't need to be this week...which means probably he grew and inch. Wow. So, without the helmet he now needed a hat to wear. I had been planning on making a hat that Meghan, formerly of the StitchIt! Podcast, had designed. Its called the Tricera Tops hat and its made to show off handspun yarn and the pattern even appeared in the Spin Off magazine. So I pulled out the corriedale fiber I had spun for Tour De Fleece 2011 and cast on Sunday and finished it up on Friday. Working with handspun is so nice. I was even inspired and bought more fiber to spin. I have a good stash of materials that I need to go through but its still nice to buy pretty colors.
So, here is the hat in a few views and Benton wearing it....ignore my horrible expression....( Read more... )
I'm now working diligently on the TARDIS Mitts for Storvarr for Estrella and getting my sewing settled for Estrella/Crown. I hope to get sewing this week and also hit the bead show this weekend. I've got some higher end materials I need. Need to watch my budget though so we shall see. Probably will drag the boy out to TEP but hit up the bead show with the BFF. But I really need to be sewing...lots to do.
