Busy week it has been...
Dec. 19th, 2013 07:47 amWell, I've spent the last weekend getting ready for Hrafn's household Yule. What we hadn't bargained on was a Benton who was a terror. Sighs. He was pushing boundaries so hard last week and was so grumpy about being left at daycare on Friday that he pitched a fit so bad that we had to come pick him up after he was there an hour. He got to understand that it was unacceptable and the weekend was full of discipline, spanking, time outs and being sent to his room for hours. Sighs. We managed to get the house cleaned up and ready to go just as people were arriving. Not the best way I like things but okay. The party was a great success and that was the important part. We got to relax with the household, enjoy nummy food and just party. The Hrafn kids kept themselves occupied and sitting out by the firepit conversing with people was so awesome. We surprised
lferion with her holiday gift of us flying her out to West Coronation. With Thorfin and V stepping up we wanted to be there and Wander was lamenting that she would love to go but couldn't possibly afford it. So, since she's so awesome to us so much during the last year it was really the least we could do.
Benton was okay the start of Sunday but I went to the street fair and I guess he just melted down. Having to basically send him to bed for hours due to him just not listening. Mel was feeling poorly with a cold and it was a trying afternoon. I made mashed potatoes and gravy to go with the turkey and we had a nice dinner and then put the boy to bed after a trying bath. Sighs. Not our best day of parenting ever.
The week went really quickly in the evenings but the days were long with work etc. Closing down projects and statusing for the end of the year. Its my last day today and I've got lots to do and then I have to spend time getting my "to do" list for when we get back. Lots and lots to do. Sighs. Oh, well, better busy than bored.
