ianuk: (talk to the hand)
As [personal profile] cowboy_r pointed out that my statements for work are always...its nuts. Well, its true...I guess I'm just noting it that things haven't changed. Our company has been going through lots of upperlevel upheaval and while the younger generation of folks can just leave (and some of the older gen has as well). We have more work than qualified people to deal with. I get lists of new hires awaiting assignment who don't meet our needs but we need to add some personnel. I'm losing my deputy next week and I really need a qualified person to deal with that. A lot of us are crispy heading into burn out and my product is having issues with hardware that are lingering from the contract we are trying to finish and the contract we are currently working on. Bleah. So If I complain about work...its my venting to not go crazy. But I will be filling out the employee survey and will be very truthful. just filled it out and yeah I filled up the boxes with all of the text space available with very explicit but polite wording.

On the project front...I've slacked. With my ankle being weird...its been a lot of watching tv/playing video games, including Animal Crossing and Luigi's Mansion 3. The latter is hard on my hands since there ware things which involve using 4 buttons at once on the Switch. ouch. But its fun.

The ankle is still not happy but its better. Its still aching but I can walk and not limp and move things. I even drove the car all day yesterday (to from work, kiddo drop off pickup etc) and while it was tired...its didn't swell up more than usual. Today its stiff but I'm going to go to the gym and do what I can. I skipped Monday since it was sore and I was tired and allergy ick from eating mesquite grilled stuff.

But I did manage to sketch on the old scroll commission and I'm pretty happy about that. We had a lot of folks come brand new from the college. So I taught a few folks to paint. Baby Frosh kiddos...omg. One of them is 17! But all good. Ari got to play with a baby that one of the non-trads brought and it was a good time. Also got to see folks our signet had gotten into disagreements with and it was good to have them back scribing. So all good.

On the book front I finished the Squirrel Girl novel which was book 34 for the year and I think I'm just going to say done with #33. I'me down to the two last novellas and I'm kinda meh on the second to last one and skipped to the last. Its 80 pages. I think I can finish that pretty quickly but in all if I skipped 78 pages out of a 900 page book I think that is okay to call it done. Then its on to the new October Daye novel and then I shall see what is next.

My new glasses came today and whoa the scrip is high and changed and oof. But the toppers are cool. I did stuff from Pair this time and I'm happy thus far. We shall see how it goes. The toppers are less substantial than I expected but they are fun.

So, work is done for the day and I'm gonna take a break and then hit the gym and then we shall see what I do.
