Weekends are for art I guess
Mar. 27th, 2024 11:24 amFriday I had to work some on things I just could not get to due to everything else being a thing I had to do. But I dropped Benton off at school and then hit the hardware store for a few things before giving blood and then coming home for working for a few hours. I then sat and played animal crossing and then took a damn nap I woke up and did a few things before heading to my massage which was very nice. I was pretty blown by the time I got home, had dinner and we watched something before bed.
I was up at 6ish and finally just got up and drank coffee and read things on Saturday. My anxiety was high but I did the adult thing and texted my step sister to fix the land issue and set up a time to chat. Mel headed off to dojo while I did errands and then headed to Ari's. She was working on a pendant and I had to cut paper and start the drafting on Magdalen's Laurel scroll. ITs been a while since I last drew any thing and a few years ago I would have asked for help on drawing all of the people. I'm slow and it took me the few hours on Saturday, most of the afternoon on Sunday and a bit into scribal monday to get everything drawn. Now admittedly none of my figures have heads just head gear. It looks funny once my pencil ovals are gone but it will be fine. I can get help with faces and hands once I get through the main painting. In between everything I did a bit of knitting and started watching Loki Season 2. Man its weird. OB played by Ke Huy Quan is delightful. We shall see how that goes.
I got home from Ari's on Sunday, set my studio up for a call and made a very large gin and tonic for the call with my stepsister. And it went really well. We won't be getting the 4.4 acres since honestly the trust still owns part of that but will retain the 2.5 acres mom got in JErry's will but we are shifting the boundaries so that we get the well and the county water. We plan on harvesting some black berries to move to our side of the line but in all it should be okay. Honestly, cheaper for us in the long run with taxes and legal fees etc. So that is okay. We will "lose" a few trees but we need to do some replanting anyway. Plus this summer I'm going plant wildflowers to turn the northern part to prairie again. It will be nice I think once we get things going. I think.
I did not art on Tuesday I was tired from work and the gym and the weather...so much rain and changes to the pressure. My foot and nose (things I've broken) are all sore and achy. Plus my blood donation kind of wiped out reserves so I'm being kind to myself and I just curled up with Spicy last night and watched tv after I made dinner. I did manage in 2x145# squats after progressive loading from 115 lbs.
Tonight after knit night I will convert my studio to scribing and then hit with scribing on Thursday night after I get home. I plan on watching movies and painting all weekend plus some knitting.
On the book from I'm about an hour away from finishing #12 Aftermarket Afterlife. I'm not sure where this is going but things are kinda dire and they've killed off people who we kind of like. So we shall see. Next on teh docket...will probably be a few on the TBR physical shelf which I need to reorganize.
