Okay, I'm trying to have a better perspective on work but today was just too many meetings without a lot getting done in between. With me going on PTO this afternoon and tomorrow and then travel monday, days like this are not welcomed. I got home and was tired but I kissed the hubby who was so cute and got out the suitcase that I need to throw out versus the one that was partially packed and waiting in the studio. I gathered my list and hit Target for a few things...which included a new 6 piece luggage set. Not that I planned on getting that but it was $50 off, had all of the features we've been looking for (handles on the side, lightweight and hidden trolley handle) that I couldn't quite pass it up. The luggage that we recieved for a wedding gift is almost 5 years old and has seen 2 pennsics, 2 trips to DC, various other SCA events around the country and parts of it even traveled with me to Italy(that one was toasted). So I had about the right amount of money left over from my settlement with British Airways. All good.
Got home and mel was very impressed with my find and after some looking we realized that the large was actually a bit larger than the large one we had. So, we packed all of the clothes for this trip in that bag, threw out the old medium sized, used the new medium sized for coats and shoes and hats and packed 2 carryons and 2 armor bags. We will probably have to do a bit of shuffling with mel's armor. The new lamellar is heavy but he just got his light weight stuff from stefan so pennsic shouldn't be an issue...it might be for me since I'll hopefully be using the stainless at that point. Anyhoo...packing took us forever...not sure why (except that mel had to make a new shield and I reedged mine? and then I decided that I needed hand work and grabbed a napkin to embroider?) But we were done by 11pm and after showers and the hunt for my ear scoop I think we finally made it to bed about 1130. I slept great, could use more but eh. I'll sleep on the flight to denver. I have lots of stuff at work to do and I guess coffee should happed so I can kick start the synapses to work on engineering stuff. Yay, reviewing qual plans.
Later...might post from the road if I can get a wifi connection. We shall see.
