i love Rachel Caine! (btw, rachelcaine...she post covers and stuff ahead of time and sometimes has contests for free stuff.) i've considered reading Furies of Calderon, but i love the Dresden Files so much i was afraid of being disappointed if i didn't love his other series. but if you give it a go, my extra-dimensional bookshelf sharer, then i feel more optimistic. : )
