Well, its wednesday though my brain keeps telling me its thursday....I'm glad its Wednesday due to knit night but I'm not glad cause that means this is only half way through work. Mel and I stayed up way to late last night. I was dealing with a self caused yarn snarl due to mel's yarn swift not being big enough for the skein I had...I wish I had one like The Hornshaw Swift but mel agrees that he needs to build version 2.0 anyway. Then I cast on for my new hat and then couldn't figure out how to join without starting knitting. Bleah. Need to look that up today. My book just told me to start knitting which after some internet searching is I guess what I'm supposed to do...though I figured there was a slip stitch somwhere..anybody??

After finally getting the cast on done and figuring out I wasn't sure what do do next I put the project down and hit the shower. Mel came home wired from practice so we stayed up chatting. Finally got to bed sometime close to midnight. Uff. I was tired when I woke up..some coughing but not as bad as yesterday. Lungs are way less tight. We shall see how things go today.

I've got a plate full for work. Lots of little tasks to complete today so it should be an easy day to do that. I've got a weird lack of meetings...course a good chunk of folks are gone still this week due to a change in policy with PTO and I can understand that. I'd like to still be home too. But war travel means lots of conservation of time.

Still working out what I will teach at the dye retreat. I've been asked to at least demo tambour so folks can try it and see if they like it and then go buy their own materials. Plus I think a crochet class would be good too, Pot holders are pretty easy to make and they are a quick project that if we are neat, we can through in the dye pots later. So, I think I'll put that in proposal and see what happens.

Yes you join it by knitting or purling depending on your pattern. Be sure not to twist the stitches. Make sure they face the same way.

Knitting in the round is basically making a giant spiral item. Kind of cool.

Here is a youtube video if you need a visual aid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUxXOMnpTzk
