After the stressful week it was very, very nice to spend the weekend at home. Accomplishments were high. Lots of good work was done and projects are slowly coming together.

Sock is about 40% complete and I got about 25% done with the heel flap which is cool. My hands are done though since I also did gold leaf and painted for quite a while today. Sancha, Ari and I rocked out on that today. Friday things got finished sketching so we are well on track.

All of my SCA laundry is done and all of the bedding is done as well.

I figured out the pattern to the little viking ladies cap.

I've been researching other head-wear and that has been fun too.

The olympics have been very, very fun. Curling has been awesome and the hockey has been specatacular. Watching the ski-cross and the biatholon were awesome today. Not so impressed with the ice dancing and we missed the USA/Canada game. Sighs.

It was a good day, a good weekend and I'm glad we started it with family breakfast.

Oh, and the sock.

That's a very colorful sock. Are you going to make it a toe sock?

I'm impressed, by the bye, that you can turn out something round from a triangular structure.

Nope, no toe socks yet. I'm going for normal socks. I picked up the yarn in VA last August....and have been saving it for use ever since.

The triangle to the round...its actually pretty easy how that works once you see it in action.

Thanks. I'm not sure what my speed of knitting is but this has been a bit quicker than I thought. This week though is gonna be busy....hope I get enough time.

ooOOOooo, I love the stripes! I'll have to go back a couple posts to see the brand - Regia?

Are you on the heel flap?

Yup, its Regia. I am about 4 repeats into the heel flap. I'm doing the heel flap from the yarn harlot pattern in Knitting Rules. Took me a bit to understand what she was asking me to do but now I get it. Course I'm sure I'll be confused when I get to the turning but lots of reading helps. The only thing I noticed, though this might just mean over hand use, is that my tension got really, really tight as I've been going on flap...probably since I'm knitting flat now versus in the round. I'll see.

Yeah, my tension changes when I switch to flat knitting, too. A tightly knit heel flap isn't a bad thing though. The Yarn Harlot's instructions for turning the heel where pretty easy for me to follow - and I have to look at them every time. You's an engineer, I'm sure you can do it!
