ianuk: (don't wanna)

Well, I spent thursday afternoon curled up in bed with butterfly, my laptop and the house phone and the humidifier on high. It made me feel slightly better to not be sitting at my desk at work, being warm and snuggly and I got a lot accomplished which was good and I got to lean back and rest while talking on telecons. Go me. I spent the rest of the evening being a lump I think. Mel headed off to kung fu and college practice and was mad that I wasn't asleep when he got home. I had to go out and get my antibiotics. The docs were worried about further complications with my lungs and I was okay with that. Friday I was pretty miserable but hoped that netipot regimine, rest and fluids would help. And it did. I wasn't 100% but I was better-ish. I managed to get to 2 appointments on Friday and then rest all the rest of the day. I was still not sleeping well. Once 4am hit I was awake for quite a while but I had gone to bed uber early. The coughing was better and the netipot got things clearing in my sinuses.

Saturday was the house meeting and after a joe's breakfast I took a 2 hour nap and then cooked the lunch. I was beat by the time mel and tony got back from tool shopping but I rested and basically snuggled up during the meeting, taking notes and interacting. It was a good day and when folks left I think I was in bed shortly thereafter. I slept through the night almost completely except to get up to hit the bathroom. I called that win. We had our coffee maker die finally on Sunday and I managed to get a shower and head out and finish registry stuff before coming home. I watched mel and Richard play black ops zombies and then did some knitting.

I got to bed on time but was restless so I finished reading the first book of 2011, Boneshaker by Cherie Priest. It was a bit rushed in places and a little to pat in others but a good story all around. I hope there is a sequel with some of the characters since there is an entire plot line at the end that you kinda want to know what happens. By the time I finished that it was a bit after 11pm. I snuggled down and tried to get comfy to sleep and started coughing. Which usually isn't an issue but it was dry to wet hard, pushing coughs. I think I'm trying to expell the last of the junk and my body just couldn't manage. Podling was not happy with this and was kicking away for me rocking the containment field so badly. My belly and chest hurt and I finally got up when mel woke up from the noise to get a cup of tea and honey to see if that would calm things. I stayed up until about 1230 making sure things had abated and was able to sleep propped mostly up. About 5 I had another attack and then back to sleep but I can say I hurt. I could feel my sternum flexing and its almost like I have a rib out again in the soft tissue...I say almost since I can breathe but I think I did some damage. Sighs. I just hope this is the last. Almost everything coming out of my sinus or lungs in clear so the infection has abated. I think this might just be asthma stuff and I'll see if my inhaler helps throughout the day. I'm weary but I'm not sure if that is 3rd trimester or just me recovering from being sick or both. Sighs. Its just hard right now.

But my goals for the week are to relax. Rest and try to get back to the gym and just take things easy. So, there we are. I wish I had one more day home to rest but work calls and I have lots to accomplish here. Slow and steady though. Just need to start getting people used to me working a much slower pace.

Oof, I hope you keep feeling better. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who only recently finished her first book of the year. Also, while I haven't read Boneshaker yet (I've been debating), the "self-contained" sequel is called Dreadnought and is already out. I'm not sure whether it involves the plot line in question, though. There's also the book Clementine which is described as being "loosely related" to Boneshaker. I've seen both Boneshaker and Dreadnought at Costco, but Clementine is apparently harder to find.

Clementine might be an in-quel (inside book) during the story or it might be a story after...hmmmm. Interesting.

I have a huge stack of books to read now so I will probably looking for the other ones when I get chance but I was loaned boneshaker so we shall see if [livejournal.com profile] dverning has the others.
