The weekend was busy. By the time friday hit I was exhausted. I ran some errands after work after I discovered that Butterfly had sprayed a few our our award scrolls. Yes, the award scrolls. Luckily the frames and glass saved them but I was livid. I ended up washing walls and while at Petco I got some Nature's Miracle Calming Spray. And funny enough its been working. After the boy went to bed we managed to get places sprayed down and then the cats were pretty happy. Butterfly sat on my lap and gave herself a bath. I also got to brush them a bit and boy did they need that. We've still had her get a few places but its way down and we are noticing her using her box way more. So, I'm a fan. At our vet appointment on friday we shall see if we need to have other measures but so far this is working well.
Saturday AM we slept in a bit. Benton was up about 730 or so and I would have loved to have had more sleep but we snuggled and I got coffee on and it was a nice morning before I got cleaned up to go to the Best Bead Show with
scribe_ari and
elinor_dear. It was a good time that we had and I spent a lot but I got some cool things and I made cool things when I got home after we had lunch at Nimbus.

After folks left I was pretty zonked. I managed to knit for a while on the TARDIS mitts before I realized I couldn't read my own pattern. I was very annoyed with that. I'm probably gonna frog them for the 3rd time. Sighs. I'm also thinking I'm gonna frog the scarf of mine and a shawl to start over on both. The scarf is too wide and the shawl has a few mistakes and I need to just make a clean go of it. I think I will frog things and make a pretty crochet something and let the knitting sit for a while. I just came to this realization last night...its sad and liberating at the same time.
So Mel and I stayed up a bit later on Saturday night cause he was playing Batman Arkham Asylum. Its neat to watch except when he's in tunnels or in detective mode and fighting. I can't handle watching it then. Got to bed and about 30mins or so after we went to bed Benton was up screaming. I got him changed and then he sounded hungry and he screamed after I gave him 2 oz. He ate another almost 4 oz and was still wide awake and crying. Any time you put him down he cried. We finally got him settled a bit and put him back in bed but he whimpered off and on all night.
Sunday we blearily got up and then headed to the TEP show. It was okay. Got some tools and then had lunch at Joe's before heading home. I got going to Costco and then got home. Super Bowl Sunday was busy there and a lot of people were rushing around like manic monkeys but I just relaxed and let it just flow by and was patient. Got out and home and Benton did not want a nap. Oof. Got sucked into playing Angry Birds some more after I figured out that the little blue birds will go into clusters if you tap the screen. I didn't know that and have been stuck on level 1-7 on the iphone for months. Needless to say I quickly finished the entire lite game, downloaded the full version and started getting 3 stars on all of the levels. I felt bad though. I have projects that need to be worked on and I have no compunction to work on them. Hoping to break that this weekend.
Mel played in the shop and made a drawer to put in the TV unit to prevent Benton from pulling out the dvd's. We had a nice dinner and I managed to finish up my necklace and Elinor's necklaces. Both mel and I were up late but we felt accomplished. I got laundry done and we were all set with a clean house and coffee ready for the morning. Yeah, that was a good thing since Benton started screaming at 1230am. I got up with him and changed a very full diaper and what was odd was when he "woke" up he wasn't awake. He was crying and sitting up but not awake. I rocked him for a while and mel finally got up when I tried to put him down and he started crying again. I sent him back to bed cause he was so not really awake. I got Benton bundled up in a blanket horizontally on my lap and stretched and rubbed his legs and tummy. He relaxed and about 10mins later he really asleep and I laid him down and I got to bed. He didn't say a peep the rest of the night but it took me a while to fall asleep after I got back into bed at 1am. Oof.
Monday was busy at work and I managed to get a lot of stuff done. Hit a supplier in town for a tour and a troubleshooting section and then got back to work for a bit before heading to the gym. It was my first time back in months and it felt good. I did a good range of things and then did some intervals on the treadmill. I was slow but it felt good. Lots to work on.
Got home and Benton was cranky. He was tired and we worked hard to get dinner on the table and him fed and us fed. He got a bath but he was fussy. He has a bit of a diaper rash and the bath did not feel good for him. I got him all balmed up with diaper cream and that seemed to settle him pretty good. Not sure what brought on that rash but we've been trying to change formula and I'm not sure if its that, just having a few messy diapers or what. Just need to keep an eye on it. Needless to say after that I was beat and scribes started arriving for scribble. I went to show Elinor her pretties and the one necklace shattered apart when I pulled it from the bag. We rescued the beads and I think one of the new metal findings had a burr that cut the fine soft flex I use. I'll have to ream the pearls to use the medium so we shall see what I do. That is in time out. I painted for a bit. We got to meet Elinor's BF Adam and he drew us a scroll blank. Happy demony goodness.
In general it was a good night and folks were all about making an early night of it. So the house cleared of scribes at 930 and we quickly got ourselves ready for bed. I really expected another wake up and deal with Benton night but he was as quiet as a church mouse all last night.
The pheromones for the cats are working well and we had no hissing to get breakfast this AM after I doused the entry way to our bedroom. I'm very happy with that. Hopefully a few more weeks of calming spray and we might be able to have a normal house again. I miss kitty snuggles and I really hate having to close all of the door so much. We shall see.
So tonight is Arts Night/Fighter Practice...does anyone want to watch Benton while I get to fight and Ivan teaches? I'm bringing my stuff just in case some one can watch him.

Date: 2012-02-07 06:17 pm (UTC)I didn't realize Nature's Miracle made a calming spray, but I'm going to look into it. I've used Feliway's wall diffusers before, but even with using Amazon, it was still a bit expensive.
