ianuk: (here's looking at you)
So part of the taking care of me and getting healthier and not slacking is really about me not sitting my ass down when I get home. If I sit I get comfy and then I never accomplish anything.

I got home from work and the gym (yes!) and was tired and hungry but made myself a healthy mushroom/spinach omelet and emptied and reloaded the dishwasher and got the front room cleaned up for scribble while Mel got the boy settled for bed. It may not seem like much but me and dishes are not friends. I may have said this at one point but one year my mom hid the xmas presents in the dishwasher cause she knew I would never empty it. yeah. So, me doing dishes is a thing with Mel and I'm trying to be a good wife and get some done when I see them sitting and I was waiting for things to cook so multi-tasking.

Got scribble stuff settled but I was rambling through what I wanted to do. I ended up sketching for about an hour on Jorge's knighting scroll. I got the helmet and his heraldry sketched but my scale may be off a bit....we shall see once I get the figure put in. Figure drawing again is helping me out.

My problem right now is I have tonnes of inspiration to do MAKE ALL THE THINGS!!! But I'm at work 10 hours a day and then its kiddo care and house work and then, then I can make things. So, I'm just making lists of "TO DO" for the outfits and tonight I will finish up my studio clean and PUT ALL OF THE THINGS AWAY because Estrella is still prominent in my studio of stuff to put away. Ahem. Additionally, sometime in the next bit I really need to go through my ottoman cause yarn is exploding in it. I have too much yarn and need to again MAKE ALL THE THINGS. Yeah. I need yarn diet now and just work on things.

But the plan is for Friday to sew up the lingering projects that are sitting in the studio which I think are 3 pairs of pj pants, 1 pair of capris to repair and to finish Ivan's wool tunic. Then on Saturday I can pull out patterns and fabric and attempt the trial skirt pattern. If I keep motivated and have music and house work is done I can do this. seriously. I can do this.

I miss having my essence of Ianuk available for awesome things. I just need to make myself do the awesome things.

Also, I need to do a practice run on my A&S project with some scrap yarn and get the pattern right. That will be also this weekend. Plus some simple documentation. All good.
ianuk: (don't wanna)
Well the day was good for work getting things done and then when I got home I found out we finally got the permits and plans approved for the shop. They are now in my hot little hands and mel can call the concrete guy to get things going. I made a pizza for dinner and got cracking on laundry and working on my A&S project. Things took longer since I couldn't find the leather shears, they have gone AWOL in the house and had to sub with some old kitchen shears that need a good sharpening. But I got the projects done and then headed over to ari's to have the kids try them on and make final tweaks, take pictures and reassure the BFF on a few things about the scroll and life in general.

Got home and I got cracking on the documentation and finished that up a bit after 10pm. I then hit the shower and curled up in bed with a book. I got sucked into the book and it was almost midnight when I finally turned off the light. oops. I woke up at 3am to hit the potty and then awoke a while later with a sense something was wrong. A quick check proved that the power was off in the neighborhood and I was without flashlights except in the car. I called the power company to report the outage, set the travel alarm clock and went back to sleep. The power came back on about 450am or so and I had to get up to turn the security lights off. They kept cycling on and off and it was annoying. I hope they reset today. I woke up later and realized that I never turned on the alarm when I set it and got up about 10mins later than normal. The girls had woke me up with meows so I guess kitten alarm clocks are good. They were whiney for breakfast and I ignored them while I got cleaned up and dressed. My lunch today looks like a kids lunch with chocolate cake and pizza. Sighs. Headed out the door almost on time and got into work doing okay. Now during the getting ready in the kitchen I managed to drop butter and cat medicine on the floor. Almost spill my vitamin drink and drop crumbs down my shirt. Such a good morning.

Also last night, I know mel meant well but he sabotaged the pregnant lady by first putting the leather tub on top of our top loading washer. I had to move it to the floor to search in it and to do laundry..ugh heavy. Then I realized last night that the pot in the sink was the large canning pot and it was full of water. I managed to scoop out enough so I could get it lifted into up to dump it but it was heavier or at least more awkward than the leather tub. Sighs. I did not manage to get banana bread done last night which means I will have to scramble to get it done before my birth class tonight or afterwards. I think afterwards might be better since sometimes it needs a bit extra time and I will probably only have an hour or so once I get home. So I plan on packing clothes and the like before then and then doing the rest of the things. I hope to pack a bit when I get home or leave the rest to the morning. Not sure. I have an errand that needs to be run to as well and well I'm not sure where I'm fitting that into...probably tomorrow AM. I hope to get to site about 10am but we shall see.

My lack of sleep last night might prove my downfall. But here is to hoping.
ianuk: (walking pig)
Well, I took a bit of time off for myself on Friday afternoon and got my toes done and did a bit of shopping. It felt good just to walk around the mall. Got home and hung out with the hubby, had nummy left over t-bone steaks for dinner and then headed to Altenburg to work on the pendants. Steve was working on a laticework candle holder and I worked on the filing, sanding and grinding on the pendants to get the flashing off. They looked pretty good but still lots to do.

Got home and pretty much went to bed, I was that tired. I awoke about 6 am and the cats bugged me until I got up about 715 or so. Mel was awesome and made coffee and I sat and finished the embroidery for the competition. Then I headed out to our shop to work on the pendants while mel worked on the kitchen box. I managed to get all of edges to my liking and worked on polishing down the back of the piece. Got done with that and showered and relaxed a bit. Then we headed to Tom's for a small b-day get together for him. Tom made burgers, his family made cake and it was a great time. Had a blast sitting by the pool chatting with Ilora and Asa. The kids were running rampant. Later after the kids took over the house the adults took to the pool. I swam for quite a while while everyone else not doing karaoke sat in the hot tub. I put my feet in after I was done swimming and it was a nice night. We got home about 10pm and were shortly in bed.

Sunday dawned early again but this time I kept my eyes shut so the girls didn't realize I was awake. It worked so well I spooked butterfly. We ended up walking to breakfast early and then hooking up with Tati and Mingo at Joes. Had a great breakfast and then headed to their place to see the bathroom they had redone. We hope to use the same contractor for the enclosure of the carport and boy did they do a nice job on that bathroom. Then tati and Mingo helped Tati's sister with a plumbing issue over a web cam. Technology is awesome. Mingo took us home and I managed to get all of the laundry sorted and then started in on using the jeweler's saw to remove some material on the pendants. It was slow work but I managed to get it all done and my laundry too before I was a bumbling mess of tired. I laid on the couch while mel made dinner and was pretty lame. I was tired and I did managed to rub icy hot all over my forearms and hands and that made me feel a ton better. Mel managed to finish the new kitchen box and got the first of a few coats of paint on the box. He's using a method he discussed with the joiner's at Williamsburg and its looking really good. Got to bed on time and I read for a bit before finally slumbering. I slept pretty good but man I could have used some more. I'm not used to it being dark when we get up yet but it sure is.

I think I've resigned myself to using the scroll I did for Baronial A&S. I don't think I have the time or the sanity to finish the other one. We shall see how Tuesday goes, I think that will be my make or break day for all of the finish work. Just need to add some photos to the docs and work out some editing. They are in good shape. I need to also work on my display for Saturday and how I'm doing that. Lots to do still.

I've been feeling really good though and that is helping. Though I have huge bursts of energy and then I get the "you have to lay down now" impulse. And you kinda have to give into that impulse and that is okay...its good for me and the podling.

Well, time to check the paperwork and get a hold on monday.
ianuk: (baroness)
Well, things are looking up...since its Friday!

I managed to get all of my documentation into HL Raven (KMOAS) except the temple pendant one since it was on the home laptop. Not too shabby.

I managed to finish up the leaves on the embroidery last night and now I have the middle sections to do. Which means, in all probability if I just buckle down this weekend I could theoretically get everything done. Theoretically. I'm planning on some personal pampering today that will probably kill a few hours but yeah, if I stay on task and tonights metal work cleanup goes good I could be sailing free and clear for next week.

Though one thing that is bothering me is my hands. The 15 hours of typing I seem to be doing a day is not helping. I guess carpal tunnel is also a symptom of pregnancy as well (scary, no?) and I need to be resting things better. But..well, you know me. Push on until I physically can't. Will try to be good. Need to see if walgreens has a replacement wax bath and get another one so that should help. We shall see. I only hope to work on final edits of documentation next week so that isn't too bad. Heck, I might even be able to make it out to practice for once which would be nice and convenient for delivering pampered chef stuff. Me being social would be good...I'm missing people at this point.

So time to finish up some more paperwork and then head out for the afternoon.  But if you want..here is everything I read, looked and at referenced for my projects...this doesn't include the books I didn't find anything in though...that is probably 20 more.

ianuk: (crow)
Well, honestly, its 2 days before my docs have to be finished for the championship...they can be drafts but I like good drafts...my in between drafts are...well, special and full of odd commentary to myself. So, been working very hard on that in the evenings. I did manage now to have almost completed the fabric documentation; note it wasn't even started yesterday afternoon. Go me. So, I'm feeling better about that.

Over the weekend will make the decision if I finish the scroll I'm working on or just ask Darine for the one I already did for BTY A&S. Its the same style and its completed. I might need that for stress relief. I made good progress on the embroidery last night and I'm now well versed in the Bayeux stitch thanks muchly to [livejournal.com profile] racaire's wonderful handout. I'm doing it for the leaves and it looks really sharp. [livejournal.com profile] scribe_ari was well pleased with it. The knitting group gave me a big "CONGRATULATIONS" when I arrived last night and that was neato. I also got chided for waiting so long to tell people but they understood.

Getting a bit overwhelmed with all of the doctors appointments, friends moving away, A&S stuff, hubby not feeling well and over all OMG ITS FALL!!! stuff. So, just hanging in there.

Hoping that a productive evening tonight and a nice friday afternoon evening will make the weekend a bright spot. Here is to hoping. Just kinda need that.

Podling is doing really well and on the charts for growth etc. I found out that my sealants in my teeth put in in high school are now finally failing. Usually they fail within 3-5 years after installation. The one that failed and I now have a small cavity was put in when I was 17. So, they have lasted a good long while. I shouldn't be annoyed that this is the 2nd cavity I've ever had. I had two enamel areas filled in high school that would have become cavities so really not a lot has been done. So, its scheduled for the week in October I'm really sure I'm not traveling. I'll probably not have them numb me up...we shall see what Lopeza says. The last one he filled didn't take either and he was quick. This one is small enough that I should be able to do it without it. We shall see. Stoopid drug allergies.

With all of the A&S craziness I have not had a chance to download pictures or even find a new gym. I hope to do that right after A&S.

Funny from last night. Mel was awesome and made dinner since I had to head to the tire place to have them put on the fixed tired and rotate and balance them. I suggested chillimac and realized that he and I's version of chillimac are different. I usually just cook up the hamburger with onions and garlic, put in some chili powder and then mix it together. He thought, make chili and put it on the mac and cheese. Well his worked out just fine. He had to go to the store cause the pantry didn't have everything and he bought some nummy t-bones that I'm gonna grill tonight. Grilling for me is quick and easy and gets us off the eating out kick we've been on the last week due to travel. I'm okay with that. Though I guess we had canned beef and barley monday..so I guess we've been off of it already. Eh, all good. Well back to paperwork...lots to do.
