Signs of Death....

ianukSo, when I put mom's socks on at the hospital on Wednesday a few of her toes were kinda purple. I assumed it was from the fall. Its not. Its a thing called mottling which according to the first website in my google search is a "Mottling of skin before death is common and usually occurs during the final week of life, although in some cases it can occur earlier." Reading further on signs of death for cancer and she meets a lot of them if not all of them to an extent.
I spoke with the nurse this morning at her care home and its more pronounced in her feet now. So we are on a clock of a week or so. For Symmetry I would not be surprised if she dies on the 17th which was when she went into the hospital in SD a year ago. But we will take it as it comes.
I'm going to self care and see my BFF this weekend and spend time with mom and take things day by day.
This is really hard.
EDIT 120pm: Okay spent a few hours with her and got to talk with the hospice nurse. She has not quite transitioned to this point yet. But it could change. They figure a month or so? Its honestly up to mom. I still think she's going want to make it to christmas but we shall see. But right now its not this week...its still soonsih? But again we shall see.
