Thursday and Friday were....ugh
Feb. 8th, 2021 09:51 amSo I continued with the myriad of drawing reviews and finding things people should have caught. My presentation on thursday...ugh.
I've given this style of presentation quite a few times. And I'm good at them. We had new people on the review panel and they dug down into things that were weird. A basic understanding of what they were looking at wasn't there and usually my part of this presentation is 20 mins. This case it was 1.5 hours and we have a major lien on the hardware now. Ugh. I got kudos from a department engineering fellow and got calls from the customer tech rep subordinates to apologize for the weird rigor. But it was draining. Then on friday late we discovered that operations had not read their own documentation and had us on a wild goose chase to fix a non issue.
By the time I was done with work on Friday I took a two hour nap. I was soo just done with things. I even went to bed kinda early. Woke up on Saturday and my sinuses were stuffy and my asthma flared. Ugh. So I rested in bed with coffee. Then I got my Saturday Ritual shower and super cleaned my sinuses and washed my hair and pampered myself. Then it was picking up a few things and painting in the afternoon. I finished the painting on a commission and have the calligraphy left which I thought I would do on Sunday.
The boys cleaned Benton's room up and I got us take out for dinner of Holy Smokin' Butts BBQ. It was a bit of a wait in the car but it was so good to eat I don't care. I attempted to knit and my hands still aren't up for that. Ugh.
Sunday I made a plan and mostly stuck to it. I got our bedding all washed including the duvet. I sorted through the massive pile of paperwork on the piano and environs. I got all of the tax stuff organized so I can just print off a few things for our accountant. I need to get that too them soon. Then I got the xmas lights off the house and the cactus and got Benton vacuuming his room, the front room and the family room. Then the vacuum decided it didnt' want to stay on.
I got it mostly apart and reset things and then could not for the life of me and 5 YT videos get the damn thing back together. Finally had Mel help and he got it together after about 15 mins. There was a small lip that things were catching on that I couldn't see and he could only see once we got a flashlight on stuff. But now it works again and I finished up the family room. I made the best beef roast in the crockpot with potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, super dosed in garlic powder, S&P, a splash of herbs de provenance, some grains of paradise and the mushroom powder from TJs. Plus two cans of Guinness and 8 hours it was perfect.
We had beers with dinner and then I lost all motivation to do anything else. I did not log on to West Kingdom Scriptorium or do my calligraphy. That was okay. We watched tv and relaxed. I guess that was okay. I had a nice night and that was the good thing and got snuggles in with the hubby which is also good.
I did setup the new cat fountain for the cats and Tasha is puffy tailed scared of it. Today she has finally drank out of it but I may switch out the head to have it give a different spray.
