Here we are at Monday...a day I probably should have taken off from work to rest and recoup but I'm a sucker for punishment I guess.

The weekend went really well. We got to give out our last awards, even had to have a drive by court for a 1 of them but it was worth it. Our surprise awarding to lferion went off without a hitch! Thank you Baron Christopher for your letter and hijinks. Had a few moments of panic and tired and stress but we got through it and beer is helpful for that.

It was neat to surprise people with awards most deserving and for thanking folks with silver items was also neat. I cried a bit but that was okay. The kids stepped up in style and their first court sounded (from the bathrooms) to go very well. I'm very thank full for public_shaylan since she was stunt lady/steward all weekend. She got me helped changed for our coming into court for our thegn/bannthegn (for you out of kingdom folks read about it HERE). I think the crowd was kinda shocked to see us walk out in a completely different century...much thanks to lferion for the awesome sideless heraldic surcote and for everyone helping me out on other things. Couldn't have done it without my peeps. Thanks.

So we headed out after court and went to dinner with a small family crewe, had good food, good beer and a good time. Got home and I was asleep before 10pm. Sunday dawned early but showers and breakfast made us all better. Then it was off to the Ren faire...it was a nice day for it till the end when it was very windy. My asthma is not happy about that today or the sulfur I breathed in at the forge or the fireworks but I'm okay, just might go home early. We shall see. The shows were fun and I did a bit of shopping. Did you know they had a bookshop at the faire? OMG!!! Me, mel and Wander all blew some cash. Got some really good books too. Got home late and hung out working on documentation research for A&S. Got some juicy stuff that I need to print out today for that. All good. So, enough of the weekend...more on topics later.

Congratulations on your retirement! Mine was both a relief and a sadness (always wonder if I should have stayed longer); but I hope yours is nothing but happy.

Thanks...we couldn't have stayed longer (kingdom law sets it to 3 years) but yes, a mix of sad and happy all rolled into one.

I have a gift for you guys too! I'm taking a peek at the calendar and I'd like to bring Mike and his mum down for Gawd Awful Grail, but I'm not sure if we will because it's the day before they're leaving and they may not want to make the drive down.

Are you guys planning to attend Mixed Weapons War? If not, I'll definitely be at coronation as well since they changed it to be in Casa Grande rather than down in Mons.

Please, please believe that my not being there had nothing to do with the LiW business. I "hit the wall" at 5 pm and physically was not able to move any longer. The costumes are gorgeous and I'm sure the courts were moving.
