Neat! So I think I get most of the basic techniques already, but how'd you pull off that chained look weaving around the base of the hammer?

Dude, sooper easy...basically do a basting stitch in one color. Then bring a contracting thread around and weave in and out of the stitches until you get to one end and then weave back the opposite way to complete the "circle". If you come to scribble tonight I'll show it to you.
