Bravo on a fun and fantastical new show. I really like the steampunk stuff you are using from Datamancer and other steamy construction folks. I also like the items we've seen so far and that is cool...though its more diesel punk than steamy but eh, I'm not complaining. I liked what I saw and I'm going to be DVR'ing this series for a bit since it will be on tuesday nights which is annoying.

What I will complain about is:
1) The area of SD that you are portraying does not look like that.
2) There are no "grasslands" like that near the badlands...its just grass, kinda and no trees or cows
3) Wasta is not a pretty little town with quaint little victorian buildings...nope.
4) You're license plate should be starting with "2" not 3 letters...it would have come from Pennington county sorry, bad!

I'm sure they aren't filming on location in SD, so they do the best they can. I also suggest that they are using fake license plate numbers to avoid clearance issue conflicts with real plates.

Have to agree wtih [livejournal.com profile] aliskye here, on both points. 1 - filming is likely in Canada, with some setting / scenery shots chopped in from specific, recognizeable areas of SD. 2 - Using "accurate" license plates puts them in a liability situation that I certainly wouldn't want to deal with. Kind of like using 555 phone numbers in movies and on TV shows-- obviously, no such numbers exist, but we don't quibble about that. I could just see them using accurately formatted plates on a vehicle in the show-- next thing you know, turns out some crazy fan tracks down a real, live person with the same plate # and HILARITY (except not) ensues.

It's possible to use accurate license plate numbers and phone numbers, but it's a lot more work generally. (Unless the show is set in California where the DMV has set aside a certain block of license plate numbers for entertainment industry use.) It's also possible to use real phone numbers, but the studio needs to own that phone number long term. :)

From what I have seen... it's on tuesday, friday... and sunday... so you have a choice of when to watch it...

I started seeing part on tuesday - and caught the rest on friday.

It made me smile.
